Aquariums are facilities where animals are confined within tanks and displayed to the public, and in which they may also be bred. Such facilities include public aquariums, oceanariums, marine mammal parks, and dolphinariums.

Japan has the largest number of public aquariums per capita in the world. [1] There are many small public aquariums in Japan and many are not on this list.

Some aquariums that are considered to be of high academic value are, have been designated as registered museums or museum-equivalent designated facilities by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. [2]

In addition, large fish tanks are often installed at large commercial facilities, stations, and airport, Large commercial facilities such as Aeon mall, Lalaport, Don Quijote etc, all of which are open to the public for free.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">JNR Class D51</span> Japanese 2-8-2 steam locomotive

The Class D51 (D51形) is a type of 2-8-2 steam locomotive built by the Japanese Government Railways (JGR), the Japanese National Railways (JNR), and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Rolling Stock Company, Kisha Seizo, Hitachi, Nippon Sharyo, Mitsubishi, and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries from 1936 to 1945 and 1950 to 1951. 174 were preserved in Japan but 5 out of the 174 are operational leaving only 169 on display.

The 88th Emperor's Cup began on September 13, 2008 and ended on January 1, 2009 with the final at National Stadium in Tokyo. As the champion, Gamba Osaka participated in 2009 AFC Champions League.

The 90th Emperor's Cup (第90回天皇杯) began on 4 September 2010 and ended on 1 January 2011 with the final at National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan. Gamba Osaka were the two-time defending champions, having won two previous tournaments.
