Z is a 1969 political thriller film directed by Costa-Gavras, from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jorge Semprún, adapted from the 1967 novel of the same name by Vassilis Vassilikos. The film presents a thinly fictionalized account of the events surrounding the assassination of the democratic Greek politician Grigoris Lambrakis in 1963. With its dark view of Greek politics and its downbeat ending, the film captures the director's outrage about the junta that then ruled Greece. The title refers to a popular Greek protest slogan meaning "he lives," in reference to Lambrakis.
Costa-Gavras is a Greek-French film director, screenwriter, and producer who lives and works in France. He is known for political films, such as the political thriller Z (1969), which won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, and Missing (1982), for which he won the Palme d'Or and an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Most of his films have been made in French, but six of them were made in English.

It is the second part of Saura's flamenco trilogy in the 1980s, preceded by Bodas de sangre and followed by El amor brujo. The film was an Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film at the 56th Academy Awards.
Ignacio López Tarso was a Mexican actor of stage, film and television. He acted in about 50 films and appeared in documentaries and in one short feature. In 1973 he was given the Ariel Award for Best Actor for Rosa Blanca, and the Ariel de Oro lifetime achievement award in 2007. He was honored multiple times at the TVyNovelas Awards. At the time of his death, he was the oldest living actor and one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema.

Julieta is a 2016 Spanish melodrama film written and directed by Pedro Almodóvar based on "Chance", "Silence" and "Soon", three short stories from the 2004 book Runaway by Alice Munro. The film is Almodóvar's 20th feature and stars Emma Suárez and Adriana Ugarte as older and younger versions of the film's protagonist, Julieta, alongside Daniel Grao, Inma Cuesta, Darío Grandinetti, Michelle Jenner and Rossy de Palma.
Memories of My Father, also known as Forgotten We'll Be, is a 2020 Colombian drama film directed by Fernando Trueba from a screenplay by David Trueba based on the book by Héctor Abad Faciolince. It stars Javier Cámara as Héctor Abad Gómez.
The Seville European Film Festival is an annual film festival dedicated to European cinema held in November in Seville, Spain, since 2004.
The 68th San Sebastián International Film Festival took place from 18 to 26 September 2020 in San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa, Spain. The festival opened with Woody Allen's Rifkin's Festival. Viggo Mortensen was awarded the Donostia Award for lifetime achievements.
Domingo and the Mist is a 2022 Costa Rican drama film directed by Ariel Escalante Meza. It had its international premiere on May 25, 2022 at the 75th Cannes Film Festival in competition for the Un Certain Regard, thus becoming the only Costa Rican and Central American film to compete in this section. It was selected as the Costa Rican entry for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards.
