South Korean singer, songwriter and dancer Taeyang debuted as a member of boy group BigBang under YG Entertainment in August 2006. He made his solo debut with the extended play (EP) Hot in May 2008, which earned him various prizes at award shows in South Korea, including Best R&B / Soul Album and Best R&B / Soul Song for its single "Only Look at Me" at the 2009 Korean Music Awards. "Only Look at Me" was also named the Song of the Year for 2008 at the Naver Music Awards. His first studio album Solar was released in July 2010 to commercial success and led him to winning the Best Male Artist award at the 2010 Mnet Asian Music Awards.

In 2014, Taeyang released his second studio album Rise which spawned the commercially successful single "Eyes, Nose, Lips". It was ranked the 2nd best performing single of the year on the Gaon Digital Chart and won numerous awards at domestic award shows, including Song of the Year at the MAMA Awards, Melon Music Awards and Golden Disc Awards, among others.

Epik High is a South Korean hip-hop trio formed in 2001, composed of Tablo, Mithra Jin, and DJ Tukutz. Primarily based in Seoul, the group signed with Woollim Entertainment and released their first two studio albums, Map of the Human Soul (2003) and High Society (2004), to minor success. The trio rose to fame with the release of their follow-up studio albums, Swan Songs (2005), Remapping the Human Soul (2007), and Pieces, Part One (2008), spawning the hit singles "Fly", "Paris", "Fan", "Love Love Love", "One" and "Umbrella". Dong Young-bae, better known by his stage names Taeyang and SOL, is a South Korean singer, songwriter and dancer. He made his debut in 2006 as a member of the South Korean boy band BigBang. Following the release of several albums and extended plays with his group, Taeyang pursued a solo career in 2008, releasing his first extended play, Hot. The EP was acclaimed by critics and went to win the award for Best R&B & Soul Album at the 6th Korean Music Awards. Hot was followed by his first full-length studio album Solar (2010), which was released in July 2010 and peaked atop the Gaon Album Chart.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lee Hi</span> South Korean singer and songwriter

Lee Ha-yi, known by her stage name Lee Hi, is a South Korean singer and songwriter. She first garnered attention as the runner-up of K-pop Star 1. She debuted with single "1, 2, 3, 4" on October 28, 2012, and reached number one with first week sales of 667,549 downloads. Her first full-length album First Love was released in two parts, part 1 on March 7, 2013, and part 2 on March 28, 2013.

The MAMA Award for Song of the Year is an honor presented at the annual MAMA Awards, a South Korean awards ceremony presented by Mnet. One of the event's most prestigious daesang awards, it was first awarded during the ceremony's eighth edition in 2006—then titled the Mnet KM Music Festival. Having gone through various name changes since its inaugural ceremony in 1999, it was renamed the Mnet Asian Music Awards from 2009 until it was rebranded as the MAMA Awards in 2022.

"Eyes, Nose, Lips" is a song recorded by South Korean singer Taeyang, serving as the second single for his second studio album Rise (2014). It was co-produced by Teddy Park, Bekuh Boom, Dee.P and P.K, while it was written by Teddy and Taeyang. The song peaked atop the Gaon Digital Chart and the K-pop Hot 100, and went on to become the second best-performing single of 2014.

The Black Label Inc. is a South Korean record label and an associate company of YG Entertainment. It was founded in 2015 by YG producer Teddy and Kush.
