As of 29 February 2024, there are 20 licensed commercial banks in Serbia. [1] For each of them, there is a balance sheet total and number of employees from 30 December 2022. [2]

It was owned by Hungarian OTP Bank since September 2019 and was mergied into Vojvođanska banka a.d., a wholly owned subsidiary of OTP Bank. Subsequently, Vojvođanska banka a.d. changed its name to OTP banka Srbija a.d. Novi Sad. On 30 April 2021, the bank finally merged into the Vojvođanska banka a.d., which was then renamed to OTP Banka Srbija a.d. Novi Sad.

Jubanka, formerly known as Alpha Bank Srbija, was a commercial bank based in Belgrade, Serbia. In December 2017, following the purchase in April 2017, it merged into AIK Banka.

NLB Komercijalna banka is a bank founded in 1970 with headquarters in Belgrade, Serbia. It is owned by Slovenian NLB Group.

Vojvođanska banka a.d. Novi Sad, commonly just Vojvođanska banka was a bank based in Novi Sad, Serbia. It was a universal bank, with functions of commercial and investment banking. In December 2017, it became a member of OTP Bank Group and merged with OTP banka Srbija, which later changed name to Vojvođanska banka.

NLB Banka Podgorica is a bank operating in Montenegro. Its parent bank is Slovenian NLB Group.

NLB Group is the largest banking and financial group in Slovenia, with the core of its activity being in Southeast Europe.

Banking in Serbia is regulated by the central bank in Serbia, the National Bank of Serbia. The mandate of the National Bank of Serbia is to contribute, without prejudice to its primary objective, to the maintenance and strengthening of the stability of the financial system and Economy of Serbia. To determine and implement measures and activities to that effect. Out of the total of 29 commercial banks, providing a wide array of banking services, 21 are in majority foreign ownership. Banks in Serbia are independent in their pursuit of profit-oriented business activities based on the principles of solvency, profitability, and liquidity. Every-day payment transactions are with a few exceptions, made in Serbian dinars, and one can use various types of credit cards. All major foreign currencies can be freely purchased and sold in exchange offices throughout the country. Many banks have automated teller machines, so, currency can be withdrawn at any time. Foreigners in Serbia, similar to the other countries, cannot get full service as in their home countries. While many banks have high ATM withdraw fees, few banks have lower fees.

Raiffeisen Bank International (RBI) is a key entity of the decentralized Raiffeisen Banking Group in Austria, acting both as the latter's domestic central financial entity and as the holding company for all the group's operations outside of Austria. The bank is listed on the Wiener Börse. Its major shareholders are the Raiffeisen Banking Group's eight regional banks (Raiffeisen-Landesbanken), which are bound by a shareholders' agreement and together hold a majority of RBI's equity.

Poštanska štedionica is one of the largest operating banks in Serbia. It was founded in 1921 and its headquarters are located in Belgrade, Serbia. As of April 2022, it is the sole bank operating on the Serbian market that is majority owned by the Government of Serbia.

Mobi Banka, formerly known as Telenor Banka, is a commercial bank based in Belgrade, Serbia. It was founded in 2014 upon the acquisition of KBC Banka in Serbia, by Telenor Serbia, one of the largest telecommunications operators in the country.
