List of street names changed around diplomatic mission buildings for political reasons

This list details situations in which a government hosting a foreign diplomatic mission building (such as an embassy or consulate) has deliberately changed the name of the street adjoining said building (often thereby making the name part of the official street address of the building) with the intent of sending a political message to the foreign government.

The assassination of Boris Nemtsov, a Russian politician opposed to the government of Vladimir Putin, occurred in central Moscow on Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge at 23:31 local time on 27 February 2015. An unknown assailant fired seven or eight shots from a Makarov pistol. Four of them hit Boris Nemtsov in the head, heart, liver and stomach, killing him almost instantly. He died hours after appealing to the public to support a march against Russia's war in Ukraine. Nemtsov's Ukrainian partner Anna Duritskaya survived the attack as its sole eyewitness.

Vitalii Volodymyrovych Skakun was a Ukrainian marine combat engineer who was posthumously awarded the Order of the Gold Star. He sacrificed his life in the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine while blowing up a bridge in Henichesk to slow the advance of Russian troops during the Kherson offensive.

Ukraine Square is a square in Skarpsno, Frogner, Oslo. It is located at the intersection of Drammensveien and Leiv Eirikssons gate. The Russian Embassy is located next to Ukraine Square. The borough of Frogner renamed the square as Ukraine Square on 8 March 2022 in support of Ukraine's freedom, in response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The borough voted on 8 March 2022 to change the name of part of the road where the Russian embassy and other properties have its addresses; none of the addresses were changed, however the intersection closest to the Russian embassy got its name "Ukraine Square".
