The Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec is the largest labour federation in Quebec in terms of its membership. It has over 500,000 members, who account for 44% of the unionised workers in Quebec. This ratio is 60% in the private sector, in which most members work. It also has many members in government agencies.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">1972 Québec general strike</span> General strike in Québec in 1972

The 1972 Québec general strike was a general strike that took place in Québec in 1972. The strike began on 11 April and lasted until 21 April, when the government of Québec banned the workers from striking and imprisoned the leaders of the three unions, as well as several dozen union organisers. With around 300 000 workers participating, it was one of the largest strikes in North American history.

The 2023 Quebec public sector strikes are a series of strikes by public sector workers in Quebec involving hundreds of thousands of workers. Primarily involving those in the health, social services, and education sectors, the strikes began on November 21. A week long strike is scheduled for December 8 to 14 before an unlimited strike is called thereafter.

The Fédération autonome de l'enseignement (FAE) is a group of nine unions representing over 66,500 teachers working in Quebec's education sector. These teachers work the realm of preschool, elementary, secondary, prison, vocational and adult education. The staffs of the Peter Hall Schools and the Centre académique Fournier, as well as 2,600 members of the FAE Retirees Association (APRFAE), are also part of the FAE.

The Alliance du personnel professionnel et technique de la santé et des services sociaux (APTS) is a union representing and defending the interests of 60,000 workers in Quebec's public health and social services sector. Its head office is in Longueuil.
