University of Shanghai for Science and Technology

University of Shanghai for Science and Technology founded in 1906, is a public university in Shanghai, People's Republic of China. It is colloquially known as Shànghǎi Lǐgōng or Shànglǐ. With more than 110 years of history, USST has today become a comprehensive university, which now covers six main disciplines. USST is one of the three Key Universities "上海市重点大学" in Shanghai City, which has been receiving a high level of support from Shanghai Municipal Government. In July 2016, USST was selected as one of 25 universities which are jointly-sponsored and built by China's State Administration for Science, Technology and Industry for National Defence and provincial or municipal government.

Qingdao University of Science and Technology is a university located in Qingdao, China, colloquially known as Qingkeda (青科大). Having evolved from a college specializing in the chemical industry, it is now a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary university offering academic degrees in Science, Technology, Humanities, Business, Management, Medicine, Law and Arts. The school encompasses three campuses in Sifang and Laoshan districts of Qingdao and Gaomi district of Weifang.

Qinghai University

Qinghai University is a university located in Xining city, the capital of Qinghai province, China. Established in 1958. As of July 2020, there are 67 undergraduate majors; 5 doctoral degree authorization points, 57 master degree authorization points, 40 master degree authorization fields, and 69 undergraduate majors; 15 colleges and 26 departments ( Department); there are 4615 faculty members and more than 27,000 students. It is the only university in Qinghai province listed in the former Project 211 program. It is a Chinese state Double First Class University, included in the Double First Class University Plan identified by the Ministry of Education.

Gaokao Chinese examinations for entrance to higher education

The National College Entrance Examination (NCEE), commonly known as the gaokao, is a standardized college entrance exam held annually in mainland China. It is required for entrance into almost all higher education institutions at the undergraduate level. It is usually taken by students in their last year of senior high school, but the age requirement was abolished in 2001.

Project 211 Former Chinese university education plan

Project 211 was an abolished project of high-level comprehensive universities and colleges initiated in 1995 by the Ministry of Education of China, with the intent of raising the research standards of high-level universities and cultivating strategies for socio-economic development. During the first phase of the project, from 1996 to 2000, approximately US$2 billion was distributed. By 2008, China had some 116 institutions of higher education designated as 211 Project institutions for having met certain scientific, technical, and human resources standards and offering advanced degree programs.

Higher education in China is the largest in the world. By September 2021, there were 3,012 colleges and universities, with over 40 million students enrolled in mainland China. The system includes Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degrees, as well as non-degree programs, and is also open to foreign students.

Hainan University

Hainan University, commonly referred to as Haida, is a comprehensive key university formed by a merger with the former South China University of Tropical Agriculture in August 2007 in Haikou, Hainan province. It is jointly administered by the Ministry of Education and the Hainan Provincial People's Government. In December 2008, it was approved by the state as a key university under the Double First Class University Plan and former Project 211. It is a Chinese state Double First Class University identified by the Ministry of Education.
