This is a list of universities in Ghana . For the purposes of this list, colleges and universities are defined as accredited, degree-granting, tertiary-level institutions. Small universities (especially private ones) are affiliated to larger established public institutions, and most higher education institutions are named "university college". The country's colleges which are incorporated with universities are listed as "university college". The country's "polytechnics" are also listed.

There are other educational institutions in Ghana - some are local campuses of foreign universities, some conduct classes for students who write their exams at the distance-education centers of the larger Ghanaian universities. Universities and colleges are accredited by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.

All Nations University was founded by Rev. Dr. Samuel Donkor in Ghana. It began with 37 students in October 2002 and has now expanded to over 2000 students. It became an accredited university college in Ghana in October 2002. The university is affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and in collaboration with SRM Institute of Science and Technology (India). On May 28, 2020, All Nations was granted a presidential charter by the President of Ghana.

The Methodist University Ghana is a private university in Ghana. It is located at Accra in the Greater Accra Region. It was established in October 2000 by the Methodist Church Ghana after being granted accreditation by the National Accreditation Board in August 2000. Academic work started in November 2000 at the Wesley Grammar School campus.

The National Accreditation Board (NAB) of Ghana is the Government of Ghana agency responsible for the regulation, supervision and accreditation of tertiary institutions in Ghana. It is an agency under the Ministry of Education.

The Nurses Training College, Koforidua is public tertiary health institution in the Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The college is in the Koforidua Metropolitan Assembly. The activities of the institution is supervised by the Ministry of Education. The University of Ghana awards a Diploma in Nursing after students from the institution have successfully completed a three-year nursing training programme. The institution is accredited by the National Accreditation Board. The Nurses and Midwifery Council (NMC) is the regulates the activities, curriculum and examination of the student nurses and midwives. The council's mandate Is enshrined under section 4(1) of N.R.C.D 117.

The African University College of Communications is a private tertiary institution at Adabraka, Accra, Ghana, for the study and teaching of journalism, communication studies, information technology convergence, business, African Studies, providing opportunities for advanced learning, and practical and professional training for the rapid growth and development of Africa.

DataLink Institute is a non-profit tertiary institution founded in 1993 by Ernest Ansah as a charitable education institute. It was fully transformed into a leading university college that offers programs leading to degrees, university access programs and certificates in other disciplines.

The University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) formerly known as Institute of Professional Studies (IPS), is a public university in Ghana. The main campus is located in Accra. UPSA is the first university in Ghana to provide both academic and business professional education. The University of Professional Studies Act, 2012 (Act 850) changed the name of the Institute of Professional Studies to University of Professional Studies, Accra. UPSA is nationally and internationally accredited by the National Accreditation Board (Ghana) and the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) respectively.

Radford University College is a private university in East Legon, Accra, Ghana. It is affiliated with Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and was most recently accredited in 2019 by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission.

The Wiawso College of Education is a teacher education college in the Sefwi-Wiawso District, Western North Region, Ghana. The college participated in the DFID-funded T-TEL programme. It is affiliated to the University of Education, Winneba.

Joshua Alabi is a Ghanaian academic and politician, who served as the first Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) from 2012 to 2016. He previously served as the Rector of the same institution from 2009 to 2012 and Pro-Rector from 2005 to 2008. In Ghanaian politics, Alabi was the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for the Krowor Constituency in the Greater Accra from 1997 to 2001 and Minister of State for the Greater Accra and the Northern Regions respectively from 1997 to 2001.

St. John Bosco's College of Education is a teacher education college in Navrongo set up in 1946 with 10 male students. The college became a public tertiary institution, established by the Colleges of Education Act (847) 2012, accredited by the National Accreditation Board Ghana, and mandated to train standard teachers for Pre-tertiary Education in Ghana.

The Accra Technical University was established in 1949 as a Technical School in Ghana and commissioned in 1957 as Accra Technical Institute and converted into a Technical University by the Parliament of Ghana in 2013.

Goski Alabi is a Ghanaian academic, author and entrepreneur. She was the founding Dean of the School Graduate Studies at the University of Professional Studies, Accra. She is the President of Laweh Open University which happens to be the first accredited Open University College in Ghana established in 2014.
