Loren Falsone is a chef and restaurant owner.

Early life

Falsone was born in 1970 in East Setauket, New York [1] and grew up in the Long Island suburbs [2] and studied at Johnson & Wales University where she met future partner and husband, pastry chef Eric Moshier. [3]

After being named a top ten sous chefs by Bertolli Olive Oil, she and her husband Eric Moshier moved to Florida and became Seasons 52’s executive chef. [2]

Career

Since February 2012, Falsone has owned the Windermere, Florida restaurant The Pharmacy with Dominick Tardugno; Falsone credits her eight years working at Al Forno in Rhode Island with Johanne Killeen and George Germon with teaching her much of what she knows. [4]

Falsone has also been an instructor at the Orlando campus of Le Cordon Bleu. Tyler Brassil, her husband and co-owner at The Table - an Orlando Supper Club, [5] also taught with her. [2]

Honors and awards

Food & Wine named her, in 2000, one of the Best New Chefs. [4] Eric Moshier, with whom she worked at Al Forno and later opened Empire Restaurant in Providence, Rhode Island. [3]

The Orlando Culinary Academy (OCA) was a culinary and hospitality training school and an affiliate of Le Cordon Bleu Schools North America. Stephanie Izard is an American chef and television personality best known as the first female chef to win Bravo's Top Chef, taking the title during its fourth season. She is the co-owner and executive chef of three award-winning Chicago restaurants, Girl and the Goat, Little Goat, and Duck Duck Goat, and opened her first restaurant, Scylla as chef-owner at the age of 27. Izard received a James Beard Foundation Award for "Best Chef: Great Lakes" in 2013 for her work at Girl and the Goat. She has made a number of appearances on Top Chef since her win, both as a guest judge on subsequent seasons and as a participant in Top Chef Duels. In 2017, Izard competed in the Food Network series Iron Chef Gauntlet, where she overall defeated chefs Bobby Flay, Michael Symon, and Masaharu Morimoto to obtain the title of Iron Chef.

Sarma Melngailis is an American chef, cookbook author, and businesswoman. She was the owner and co-founder of Pure Food and Wine and One Lucky Duck, both vegan raw food restaurants in New York City. Melngailis' restaurant appeared in New York Magazine's Top 100 Restaurants round up, and made it into Forbes' list of All Star New York Eateries for five consecutive years. Both businesses closed in 2016 after staff walked out over unpaid wages. After fleeing New York, Melngailis was tracked down in Tennessee and arrested for fraud in 2016. She was convicted in 2017.
