Lorenzo Arnone Sipari (born 10 October 1973 [1] ) is an Italian nature writer and historian, author of many studies on the social and environmental history, especially on the origins and foundation of Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo.
He was born in Rome. He graduated at University of Cassino, with whom he published historical essays, particularly on the issues of the middle class of southern Italy between the 19th and 20th centuries and on the birth and development of the Rotary Club of Frosinone, Fiuggi and Cassino. [2]
Since 1998 he conducts historical research on the nature conservation in Italy, publishing essays on the Parco Nazionale d'Abruzzo. On this issue, in 2011 he brought together in a volume the main articles, reports and letters of Erminio Sipari, member of the Parliament and also founder and first president of the first Italian Park. [3] In 2007 he discovered that Giovanni Paolo Mattia Castrucci, a 17th-century historian of the duchy of Alvito author of the book "Descrittione del ducato di Alvito" (1633), reprinted several times, was a fictional character. [4]
An important part of his research [5] has been devoted to the life and work of Benedetto Croce, with particular reference to its background and to its historical methodology. [6] He's the conservator of the Sipari family archive (in Alvito), which was declared of significant historical importance by Italian state. [7]

A political liberal in most regards, he formulated a distinction between liberalism and "liberism". Croce had considerable influence on other Italian intellectuals, from Marxists to Italian fascists, such as Antonio Gramsci and Giovanni Gentile, respectively.

Ciociaria is the name commnly used, in modern times, for some impoverished territories southeast of Rome, without defined geographical limits. In more recent times, the term Campagna Romana, or Roman Campagna, a favorite subject of countless painters from all over Europe, has referred to the adjoining region to the north of Ciociaria, but part of the Province of Rome.
