Lorraine Ashbourne (born 7 January 1961) is an English actress.
She attended Wilbraham High School, when living in Fallowfield. [1] She joined Stretford Children's Theatre. [2] She took part in the University of Manchester Stage Society and Manchester Youth Theatre. [3] She joined the Webber Drama School on 19 April 1982.
Ashbourne has appeared on British series and television films, including: The Street , True Dare Kiss , Thin Ice , In a Land of Plenty , Boon , Playing the Field , City Central , Peak Practice , The Bill , Pie in the Sky , Casualty , In Suspicious Circumstances , Mr Wroe's Virgins, Rich Tea and Sympathy, and London's Burning . She narrated Happy Birthday BBC Two in 2004.
As a stage actor, Lorraine regularly appeared at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester, portraying roles such as Kate Hardcastle in She Stoops to Conquer and Emilia in Othello , acting in both of these alongside her husband Andy Serkis.
In 1987, her boyfriend was actor Glyn Pritchard, who played chef Paul on Crossroads . [4] She has been the partner of actor Andy Serkis from at least 1993, and had toured in a production in 1991, [5] living in Hackney. [6]
On 22 July 2002, Ashbourne married Andy Serkis. [7] Their three children are all actors: Ruby (b. 1998), Sonny (b. 2000) and Louis (b. 2004).

She Stoops to Conquer is a comedy by Oliver Goldsmith, first performed in London in 1773. The play is a favourite for study by English literature and theatre classes in the English-speaking world. It is one of the few plays from the 18th century to have retained its appeal and is still regularly performed. The play has been adapted into a film several times, including in 1914 and 1923. Initially the play was titled Mistakes of a Night and the events within the play take place in one long night. In 1778, John O'Keeffe wrote a loose sequel, Tony Lumpkin in Town.
Iago is a fictional character in Shakespeare's Othello. Iago is the play's main antagonist, and Othello's standard-bearer. He is the husband of Emilia, who is in turn the attendant of Othello's wife Desdemona. Iago hates Othello and devises a plan to destroy him by making him believe that Desdemona is having an affair with his lieutenant, Michael Cassio.

Marie Litton was the stage name of Mary Jessie Lowe, an English actress and theatre manager. After beginning a stage career in 1868, Litton became an actor-manager in 1871, producing plays for four years at the Court Theatre, including several by W. S. Gilbert. Otho Stuart was a British actor of the late 19th and early 20th centuries who specialised in performing in the plays of Shakespeare. Stuart played the range of Shakespearean leading men, both with the Company of F. R. Benson and with his own Company during his management of the Adelphi Theatre in London. Of independent means, he used his own money to help finance Benson's productions and his own. The theatre critic J. C. Trewin described him as 'one of the handsomest Oberons of all time.'
