Louise Alexandra Delamere (born 17 June 1969) is an English actress, best known for her roles as Lia in the Channel 4 comedy drama No Angels and Colette Sheward in the BBC medical drama Holby City .

Career

Delamere appeared in Agatha Christie's Poirot , in the episode Evil Under the Sun , where she played Arlena Stuart-Marshall, an actress who is murdered on a beach. [1] She was featured in the Cadfael episode "The Holy Thief" and appeared in the BBC crime show Waking the Dead as Elaine Ashcroft, again playing a murder victim in the fourth season finale Thin Air.

She also had a role in the television drama The Chatterley Affair and has appeared in Torchwood . She played the recurring character Marion James in the fifth series of Waterloo Road . [2] Delamere appeared as regular character Colette Sheward in BBC medical drama Holby City from 3 December 2013 until 4 November 2014.

She attended Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland). [3] [4]

Personal life

Delamere is married to actor Stephen Mangan. They have three sons: Harry (born October 2007), Frank (born 2010), and Jack (born March 2016). [5] [6]

She has three brothers; her younger brother is the actor Matthew Delamere, and one of her older brothers is the director Robert Delamere. [7]

She first appeared in the series sixteen episode "Fait Accompli", broadcast on 3 December 2013. Colette serves as the Director of Nursing Services at Holby City. Delamere was approached for the role and not required to audition. Colette is characterised as a "headstrong" and "compassionate" career woman who fiercely defends her team of nursing staff. Delamere decided that Colette should not have children to represent independent woman. But her solitary trait often leaves her isolated. Colette was introduced as an old friend of CEO Guy Self. He offers the job without interviewing her which attracts internal scrutiny. Colette's role at the hospital demands respect from those in nursing roles. Jesse Law is a fictional character from the BBC medical drama Holby City, played by actor Don Gilet. He first appeared in the series sixteen episode "Battle Lines", broadcast on 22 April 2014. Jesse arrives at Holby City employed as a Consultant Anaesthetist working on the hospital's Keller ward. The show created a rich backstory for the character meaning he already knew three regular characters Guy Self, Zosia March and Colette Sheward. Jesse and Guy share a professional history and close friendship as it was Guy who mentored Jesse after noticing his talent. He is characterised as a flirtatious, confident and cocky character. She first appeared in the eleventh series episode "Spin", broadcast on 22 September 2009. The character was introduced by Tony McHale. Between her arrival and January 2013, Mary Claire appeared on a recurring basis, sometimes with months between appearances, as an agency nurse on Keller and AAU wards. McGrady was promoted to a regular cast member in early 2013 by newly appointed executive producer, Oliver Kent - alongside the introductions of three characters. Her first appearance, as a regular cast member, aired on 23 April when Mary-Claire received a staff nurse job on the AAU ward. She is characterised as a blunt and easily distracted character, yet a brilliant nurse. Her strong point is not diplomacy, but scratch beneath the surface and you'll find a heart of gold. McGrady has described her as "cheeky, flirtatious, and trouble."
