Loyalist Golf Club has been the site of several major provincial and local events, including the Ontario Senior Men's Amateur (August 2011), the Ontario Women's Mid-Amateur (August 2010), the Ontario Men's Mid-Amateur (June 2009), the GAO Senior Women's Amateur (July 2008), and the Women's Amateur (2012) championships.
CN Future Links championship
The CN Future Links championship was held at Loyalist, May 24 - 27, 2012. Anna Kim of Toronto and Matt Williams of Calgary captured their respective Junior Girls and Junior Boys titles. Williams finished with a 6-under par round of 66, for a tournament total of 3-under 213. Local favourites Josh Whalen of Napanee, and Austin James of Bath finished in a tie for fourth with a 1-over par scores of 217.
The Loyalist Cup
Each year, since the inaugural event in 2000, the club holds the Loyalist Cup tournament, a team match-play competition, using a format similar to the Ryder Cup.
The Ryder Cup is a biennial men's golf competition between teams from Europe and the United States. The competition is contested every two years with the venue alternating between courses in the United States and Europe. The Ryder Cup is named after the English businessman Samuel Ryder who donated the trophy. The event is jointly administered by the PGA of America and Ryder Cup Europe, the latter a joint venture of the PGA European Tour (60%), the PGA of Great Britain and Ireland (20%), and the PGAs of Europe (20%).
The United States Open Championship, commonly known as the U.S. Open, is the annual open national championship of golf in the United States. It is the third of the four major championships in golf, and is on the official schedule of both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. Since 1898 the competition has been 72 holes of stroke play, with the winner being the player with the lowest total number of strokes. It is staged by the United States Golf Association (USGA) in mid-June, scheduled so that, if there are no weather delays, the final round is played on the third Sunday, which is Father's Day. The U.S. Open is staged at a variety of courses, set up in such a way that scoring is very difficult, with a premium placed on accurate driving. As of 2019 the U.S. Open awards a $12 million purse, the largest of all 4 major championships and second largest of all PGA Tour events.
Jack William Nicklaus, nicknamed The Golden Bear, is a retired American professional golfer. Many observers regard him as the greatest golfer of all time. During a span of more than 25 years, he won a record 18 major championships. Nicklaus focused on the major championships—Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, Open Championship and PGA Championship—and played a selective schedule of regular PGA Tour events. He finished with 73 victories, third on the all-time list behind Sam Snead (82) and Tiger Woods (81).
The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews is the oldest and most prestigious golf club in the world. It is based in St Andrews, Fife, Scotland, and is regarded as the worldwide "Home of Golf". Formerly, it was also one of the governing authorities of the game, but in 2004 this role was handed over to a newly formed group of companies, collectively known as The R&A.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) is the United States' national association of golf courses, clubs and facilities and the governing body of golf for the U.S. and Mexico. Together with The R&A, the USGA produces and interprets the rules of golf. The USGA also provides a national handicap system for golfers, conducts 14 national championships, including the U.S. Open, U.S. Women's Open and U.S. Senior Open, and tests golf equipment for conformity with regulations. The USGA is headquartered at Golf House in Far Hills, New Jersey.
Golf Canada, formerly known as the Royal Canadian Golf Association (RCGA), is the governing body of golf in Canada.
Morgan Pressel is an American professional golfer, currently playing on the LPGA Tour. In 2001, as a 12-year-old, she became the youngest player to qualify for the U.S. Women's Open. She was the 2005 American Junior Golf Association (AJGA) Player of the Year, and won the 2006 AJGA Nancy Lopez Award. She turned pro at age 17, and is the youngest-ever winner of a modern LPGA major championship, which vaulted her to a career-high fourth in the world rankings.
Hazeltine National Golf Club is a golf club located in Chaska, Minnesota, a suburb southwest of Minneapolis, United States. It is a private club and therefore closed to guests not accompanied by a member. The golf course was designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1962.
Priddis Greens is a hamlet in Alberta, Canada within the Municipal District of Foothills No. 31. It is located approximately 6 kilometres (3.7 mi) west of the Hamlet of Priddis, 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) southeast of the Hamlet of Bragg Creek and 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of the City of Calgary. The hamlet is developed in two residential nodes adjacent to the Priddis Greens Golf & Country Club.
Robert Jay Sigel is an American professional golfer. He enjoyed one of the more illustrious careers in the history of U.S. amateur golf, before turning pro in 1993 at age 50, when he became a member of the Senior PGA Tour, now known as the Champions Tour.
Robert Raymond Tway IV is an American professional golfer who has won numerous tournaments including eight PGA Tour victories. He spent 25 weeks in the top 10 of the Official World Golf Ranking in 1986–87.
Matt McQuillan is a Canadian professional golfer. He has played on the Canadian Tour since 2003, and won one tournament there. McQuillan earned 2011 playing privileges on the PGA Tour with a strong performance in stage three of Q-School, on his first attempt at the finals. His best career PGA Tour finish is a tie for third in the 2011 John Deere Classic.
The Interlachen Country Club is a private country club in Edina, Minnesota which has hosted several national golf tournaments, including the 1930 U.S. Open, the 2002 Solheim Cup, and the 2008 U.S. Women's Open.
Gary Cowan is a Canadian golfer who has achieved outstanding results at the highest class in amateur competition.
East Lake Golf Club is a private golf club located approximately 5 miles east of downtown Atlanta, Georgia. Established in 1904, East Lake is the oldest golf course in the city of Atlanta. East Lake was the home course of golfer Bobby Jones and much of its clubhouse serves as a tribute to his accomplishments.

Saucon Valley Country Club is a country club located near Allentown and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, in the United States. The club's facilities include three 18-hole golf courses and a six-hole beginners course. The Old Course has hosted six United States Golf Association (USGA) tournaments, including the 1992 and 2000 U.S. Senior Opens. In 2009, it was the site of the U.S. Women's Open. Saucon Valley Country Club is also the home site of the Lehigh University golf team. Two of Saucon Valley's 18-hole courses have made appearances on golf magazine rankings of top courses.
Leona Maguire is an Irish professional golfer. She was ranked 1st in the world on the women's World Amateur Golf Ranking from 2 August 2016 until 28 February 2018 and was also ranked first for the 52 weeks from May 2015 to May 2016. Maguire's 135 weeks at the top is the longest in history. A native of County Cavan, her parents are schoolteachers Declan and Breda Maguire. At the age of 9, she gave up a promising swimming career to concentrate on golf. She is 15 minutes younger than her twin sister Lisa Maguire who is also a professional golfer.
Chirapat "Ja" Jao-Javanil is a Thai professional golfer who plays on the Symetra Tour, Thailand LPGA Tour, and LPGA Tour. On 25 May 2012, she became the first women's golfer in University of Oklahoma history to win the NCAA Golf Championship as an individual. She turned professional in May 2014 at age 21.
