Luc Brodeur-Jourdain (born March 17, 1983) is a Canadian football offensive line coach for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Prior to his coaching career, he played in 11 seasons as an offensive lineman for the Alouettes. He was a member of both the 97th Grey Cup and 98th Grey Cup championship team with the Alouettes.

Amateur career

Brodeur-Jourdain played for the Géants du CÉGEP de Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieu at the collégial AAA level. He then played CIS football for the Laval Rouge et Or from 2004 to 2008. He was a Vanier Cup champion with the Rouge et Or in 2004, 2006, and 2008.

Professional career

Brodeur-Jourdain was drafted by the Alouettes in the sixth round with the last pick of the 2008 CFL Draft. He returned to play his final year of university eligibility in 2008 and re-joined the Alouettes in 2009. After sitting out week 1, he played in his first professional game in week 2 on July 9, 2009, against the Edmonton Eskimos. He played in 17 regular season games with seven starts in 2009 and played in both post-season games as he finished the year as a Grey Cup champion following the Alouettes' victory in the 97th Grey Cup game. [1] In his sophomore season, Brodeur-Jourdain played in all 18 regular season games, starting in 10, as well as both post-season games as he repeated as a champion with a 98th Grey Cup victory. [1]

Brodeur-Jourdain was named the Alouettes' Most Outstanding Lineman in 2013 and was a CFL all-star in 2012. He was also an East division all-star in 2012 and 2014. Prior to the Alouettes' 2019 Week 4 match against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Brodeur-Jourdain announced his intention to retire following the game. [2] He played in 12 seasons for the Alouettes where he played in 168 regular season games and started in 127 games. [1]

Coaching career

A few days after playing in his last game and retiring, Brodeur-Jourdain was hired as an assistant offensive line coach for the Alouettes. [3] He was promoted to offensive line coach on December 2, 2020. [4]

Jeff Perrett is a former Canadian football offensive tackle. Aside from spending the final off-season (2017) of his career with the Toronto Argonauts, Perrett spent the rest of his CFL career (2006-2016) with the Montreal Alouettes. He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in the third round of the 2006 CFL Draft. Perrett appeared in 166 regular-season games with Montreal and helped the team win two Grey Cups during his tenure. He played college football for the Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Perrett was the East Division nominee for the CFL's Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award in 2014, winning the Leo Dandurand Trophy. On May 1, 2017, at the age of 33, Perret announced his retirement from professional football.

Jovan Olafioye is a former professional Canadian football offensive lineman. He signed with the BC Lions as a free agent, after going undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft. Jovan attended the 2009 Detroit Lions rookie mini camp. He played junior college football at Grand Rapids Community College for a year before attending North Carolina Central University.

The 2012 CFL season was the 59th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 55th season for the Canadian Football League. The pre-season began on June 13, 2012, and the regular season started on June 29, 2012. Rogers Centre in Toronto hosted the 100th Grey Cup on November 25, with the hometown Toronto Argonauts defeating the Calgary Stampeders 35-22.

The 2014 CFL season was the 61st season of modern-day Canadian football. It was the 57th Canadian Football League season. Vancouver hosted the 102nd Grey Cup on November 30. The league expanded to nine teams with the addition of the Ottawa Redblacks, giving the CFL nine teams for the first time since the 2005 season. As a result of the expansion, the schedule shifted to a 20-week regular season plus three weeks of playoffs ; the season started on June 26, 2014.

The 2017 CFL season was the 64th season of modern-day Canadian football. Officially, it was the 60th season of the Canadian Football League. The regular season began on June 22 and concluded on November 4. The playoffs commenced on November 12 and concluded on November 26 with the Toronto Argonauts defeating the Calgary Stampeders to win the 105th Grey Cup.
