Hugh Francis Durrant-Whyte is a British-Australian engineer and academic. He is known for his pioneering work on probabilistic methods for robotics. The algorithms developed in his group since the early 1990s permit autonomous vehicles to deal with uncertainty and to localize themselves despite noisy sensor readings using simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM).
Martin Andrew Green is an Australian engineer and professor at the University of New South Wales who works on solar energy. He was awarded the 2021 Japan Prize for his achievements in the "Development of High-Efficiency Silicon Photovoltaic Devices". He is editor-in-chief of the academic journal Progress in Photovoltaics.

Brian David Outram Anderson is Professor in the Research School of Information Sciences and Engineering at the Australian National University. His research interests include circuits, signal processing and control, and his current work focuses on distributed control of multi-agent systems, sensor network localization, adaptive and non-linear control. Professor Anderson served as President of the Australian Academy of Science from 1998 to 2002.
The Faculty of Engineering is a constituent body of the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Australia. UNSW was formed on 1 July 1949, and the Faculty was established on 8 May 1950 with the inaugural meeting of the Faculty taking place on 7 June 1950. It was one of the first three University faculties which were established by Council, and was initially formed of four departments including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Mining Engineering, headed by Dean Professor Harold Brown.

Newcastle Boys' High School was a government-funded single-sex selective high school, located in Waratah, a suburb of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. The school was active between 1929 and 1976, after which time it became a co-educational non-selective school.
Baseball at the Australian University Games has been part of the Australian University Games program since the 2004 games. The games are held in the last week of September during mid-Semester break. The reigning champions and most successful team is The University of Sydney who are members of the Sydney Uni Baseball Club.

Zelinsky is vice-chancellor and president of the University of Newcastle joining the university in November 2018. He was the Chief Defence Scientist of Australia from March 2012 until November 2018. As Chief Defence Scientist he led defence science and technology for Australia's Department of Defence.
David Skellern is an Australian electronic engineer and computer scientist credited, along with colleagues, for the first chip-set implementation of the IEEE 802.11a wireless networking standard.
Karu P. Esselle is an Australian scholar, professor, engineer, scientist and inventor. He is the Distinguished Professor in Electromagnetic and Antenna Engineering at University of Technology Sydney, Australia. He is the leader of the MetaSteerers Team, which won Australia's national 2023 Department of Defence Eureka Prize for Outstanding Science in Safeguarding Australia. He was named Australia's Professional Engineer of the Year for 2022 by Engineers Australia - the national body that oversees engineering practice and profession in Australia. Eureka prizes are considered the Oscars of Australian Science. He is also a visiting professor of electronic engineering at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia.
The Barry Inglis Medal is awarded by the National Measurement Institute, Australia for leadership, research and/or applications of measurement techniques. It is named in honour of Barry Inglis, inaugural CEO and Chief Metrologist of Australia’s National Measurement Institute (NMI) which was set up in 2004. The inaugural medal was in 2008.
The Norman W. V. Hayes Medal was awarded by the Institution of Radio and Electronics Engineers (IREE), Australia, awarded annually for the most meritorious paper published in the Proceedings of the Institution of Radio and Electronics Engineers Australia during the preceding year. Adjudication alternated between the Institution of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Institution of Electrical Engineers (London). It was named in honour of Norman William Victor Hayes (1891-1950) who was originally communications engineer at the Postmaster-General's Department, Australia, and then later president of the Institution of Radio and Electronics Engineers until his death. The inaugural medal was in 1951.
The David Dewhurst award is a bronze medal bestowed by Engineers Australia and is the most distinguished accolade within their biomedical engineering discipline. It is named in honour of David John Dewhurst, an outstanding Australian biophysicist and biomedical engineer who performed pioneering work in the area of the cochlear implant. The award was inaugurated in 1994 as the Eminent Biomedical Engineers Award and its first winner was David Dewhurst. Following his death in 1996 the award’s name was changed to the David Dewhurst Award as a permanent memorial.
Seah Moon Ming is a Singaporean corporate executive who has contributed to several key engineering companies in Singapore, and is currently the Chairman of SMRT Corporation Ltd, SMRT Trains Ltd, SMRT TEL Pte Ltd and SMRT Buses Ltd. He is appointed as the Chairman of the National University Singapore (NUS) High School of Mathematics and Science’s Board of Governors in October 2021. In 2022, he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal at the National Day Awards. He was conferred the IES Lifetime Engineering Award by the Institution of Engineers Singapore (IES) in recognition of his positive influence and achievements to the engineering community in January 2023.
James Richard MayFTSE HonFAusIMM was an Australian chemical engineer and company director who was the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Minerals Industry Research Association Limited (AMIRA) between 1968 and 1994. He was also a fellow of a number of chartered institutions and organisations and was on various committees and academic associations and institutes.
