MTV World Stage Live In Malaysia was a concert series in Malaysia from 2007 to 2015. [1]
On August 15, 2009, MTV Asia staged an outdoor concert at Sunway Lagoon resort in Kuala Lumpur. The event was attended by over 15,000 people [2] and featured a real-time microblogging application where comments and 'tweets' via SMS were displayed on giant screens at the concert venue. [3] The six-hour-long concert was edited into a two-hour special that aired on MTV Asia on August 28, 2009. [4]

Kuala Lumpur, officially the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and colloquially referred to as KL, is a federal territory and the capital city of Malaysia. It is the largest city in the country, covering an area of 243 km2 (94 sq mi) with a census population of 2,163,000 as of 2022. Greater Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 8.622 million people as of 2023. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in Southeast Asia, both in population and economic development. Klang Valley is ASEAN's fifth largest economy after Singapore, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Manila.

The 1998 Commonwealth Games, officially known as the XVI Commonwealth Games, was a multi-sport event held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The 1998 games were the first held in an Asian country and the last Commonwealth Games of the 20th century. For the first time ever, the games included team sports. The other bid from the 1998 games came from Adelaide in Australia. Malaysia was the eighth nation to host the Commonwealth Games after Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, Wales, Jamaica and Scotland. Around 3638 athletes from 70 Commonwealth member nations participated at the games which featured 214 events in 15 sports with 34 of them collected medals.

Paperplane Pursuit is a Malaysian pop band based in Kuala Lumpur. The band currently consists of John O, Dru Yap (drummer), Isaac Ravi (guitarist) and The Chief (bassist). Past members include Irwan Haadi, Wern-Jhien and Hiang Liang. The group released their self-made debut album Malaysia 2.0 in 2011, and follow-up album Higher in 2014. Paperplane Pursuit's sound is upbeat, pop music for mainstream radio.
The Good Girl Gone Bad Tour was the second overall and first world concert tour by Barbadian singer Rihanna, in support of her third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad (2007). The setlist was composed of songs mostly from Good Girl Gone Bad but also included some songs from her first two albums. Akon was selected as the opening act for the Canadian dates of the North American leg, while Ciara and David Jordan supported the UK dates of the European leg. Chris Brown joined the tour during the Oceanian leg.
Estranged is a Malaysian alternative rock band that formed in Damansara, Kuala Lumpur in 2000. Currently comprising vocalist Rich Gimbang –who was known as a contestant in the 4th season of Akademi Fantasia–, lead guitarist Nor Hanafi and rhythm guitarist Din Hormatov, the band have released three full-length albums: In Hating Memory (2004), Remain Unknown (2008), Anugerah Hidup (2013) and an extended play (EP): Sepenuhnya Vol. 1 (2016). The band also have released a song called "Odoi" in 2018.
I Am... Tour was the fourth concert tour by American performer and singer-songwriter Beyoncé Knowles, in support of her third studio album, I Am... The 2017 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 29th Southeast Asian Games, or the 29th SEA Games, and commonly known as Kuala Lumpur 2017, was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event that took place from 19 to 30 August 2017 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This was the sixth time that Malaysia hosted the games and its first time since 2001. Previously, it had also hosted the 1965, 1971, 1977 and 1989 editions of the games. The 2017 edition is most notable for being the first edition to include winter sports.

The festival was a franchise of Future Entertainment's successful Future Music Festival that has been running in Australia since 2006. It saw shows in 11 cities across 7 countries in Asia and North America spanning from July to December 2012, and marked the first world tour by a Korean girl group.
