Madhav Sharma (born 12 November 1939) is an Indian-British actor.
Sharma studied at the Scottish Church College in Kolkata, India and later at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Bloomsbury, London. [1]
Following the death of his mother, Sharma was raised in Bangalore by his grandfather and aunt, who was an independence activist and social activist on behalf of Dalit children. His uncles, K. Venkataraman, K. S. Sanjivi and K. Swaminathan, all have been conferred the Padma Awards of India in various fields.
After graduating from RADA, Sharma decided to pursue a career in theatre and changed his stage surname to Sharma. [1]
He played the role of Patel, a lunar penal colony prisoner in the third episode of the 1973 Doctor Who story Frontier in Space .[ citation needed ]
He played Siddique in the 2002 theatrical production Calcutta Kosher. [1]
He would next enact the role of Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night , in the West End.
He voiced the character, Vikram, in the 2012 survival horror game ZombiU.
He played the part of Prem Mandal in Coronation Street . [2] He later joined EastEnders , with his role Arshad Ahmed commencing on 1 January 2018. He departed the show on 1 November 2019.
He appeared as Suresh Dhanar, in an episode called "Who Wants to be Told Bad News" from the seventies TV series Public-Eye .
Sharma was formerly married to the British actress Jenny Seagrove. [3]

Coronation Street is a British television soap opera created by Granada Television and shown on ITV since 9 December 1960. The programme centres on a cobbled, terraced street in the fictional Weatherfield, a town based on inner-city Salford, England.
Amanda Barrie is an English actress. She appeared in two of the Carry On films before being cast as Alma Halliwell in ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, which she played on and off for 20 years. Between 2003 and 2006, she played the role of Bev Tull in the ITV prison drama, Bad Girls. She has since enjoyed a varied stage and television career.

Todd Grimshaw is a fictional character from the British soap opera Coronation Street, formerly played by Bruno Langley from 2001 to 2017, and now played by Gareth Pierce. The character's debut was broadcast on 14 January 2001. He was introduced as part of the Grimshaw family, formed around the established character Eileen Grimshaw. Todd was the programme's first gay character which generated much coverage in the British media. The coming out storyline was credited for helping Coronation Street portray a more accurate depiction of society in the 21st century. The character's storylines have mainly focused on his relationships with Sarah-Louise Platt, Karl Foster, Marcus Dent and Billy Mayhew. Langley decided to leave the show in 2004 but returned for brief appearances in 2007 and 2011. The actor agreed to reprise the role on a permanent basis in 2013. Todd remained a part of the series until Langley's contract was terminated following legal issues in 2017. It was announced in July 2020 that Todd was to return, with the role having been recast to Pierce; Todd returned on 9 October 2020.

Bill Webster is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera, Coronation Street, played by Peter Armitage. The character first appeared onscreen during the episode airing on 6 February 1984 and remained in the show until 1985 when Armitage decided to leave. The character was reintroduced in 1995 but he was again written out two years later. Armitage returned once again in 2006 and appeared frequently until late-April 2010 when the character suddenly appeared only a recurring basis. It was reported in 2011 that Bill was going to be axed completely, however, he continued to make appearances on a recurring basis. His last appearance was broadcast on 29 December 2011, where Bill was in attendance at youngest granddaughter Sophie's wedding to her fiancée Sian Powers. Armitage died on 30 November 2018, therefore ruling out a future return for the character. The character was killed off-screen in April 2023.
Dennis Tanner is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera Coronation Street, played by Philip Lowrie. The character was created by writer Tony Warren and was introduced in the first episode on 9 December 1960. Lowrie remained in the role for just over a year before being written out unexpectedly in 1962 when a strike by the actor's union Equity prevented new contracts being signed. Although the strike ended a few months later, Lowrie chose not to return until a year later. After a further five years, Lowrie became frustrated with the material his character was getting and chose not to renew his contract. Dennis departed Coronation Street on 12 June 1968, shortly after marrying girlfriend Jenny Sutton.
Peter James Armitage was an English television and stage actor best known for his role as Bill Webster on long-running soap opera Coronation Street. He was a regular on British screens from the 1970s onwards.
Sol Heras is an English actor. He was the second actor to portray the character Ryan Connor in the ITV soap opera Coronation Street, from 2012 until 2013. He replaced Ben Thompson, and in turn was replaced by Ryan Prescott in 2018.
Toyah Habeeb is a fictional character from the British soap opera Coronation Street, played by Georgia Taylor. Toyah and her family were introduced to the serial by executive producer Brian Park in a bid to increase falling ratings. Actress and singer Toyah Willcox gave the producers permission to name the youngest member of the Battersby family after herself, since the character was said to be born during the height of her career. Taylor originally auditioned for the part of Zoe Tattersall, but was cast as Toyah instead. The role marked her acting debut. She made her first screen appearance during the episode broadcast on 4 July 1997.
