Ikara is a town and local government area (LGA) in Kaduna State, northern Nigeria, located around (85km) north-east from the city of Zaria. Ikara as an LGA consists of these towns its located between 10°2¹ to 11°5¹ north and villages: Ikara, Malikachi, Furana, Danlawan, Kurmin Kogi, Janfalan, Auchan, Paki, and Pala.
Kaduna is the capital city of Kaduna State, and the former political capital of Northern Nigeria. It is located in north-western Nigeria, on the Kaduna River. It is a trade center and a major transportation hub as the gateway to northern states of Nigeria, with its rail and important road network.
The Kaduna River is a tributary of the Niger River which flows for 550 kilometres (340 mi) through Nigeria. It got its name from the crocodiles that lived in the river and surrounding area. Kaduna in the native dialect, Hausa, was the word for "crocodiles". It starts in Plateau State on the Jos Plateau 29 kilometres (18 mi) southwest of Jos town, flows through its namesake Kaduna State and through its capital Kaduna, and meets the Niger River in Niger State. Most of its course passes through open savanna woodland, but its lower section has cut several gorges above its entrance into the extensive Niger floodplains. The river is used for fishing and transport of local produce.

Gwiwa is a Local Government Area of Jigawa State, Nigeria. Its headquarters are in the town of Gwiwa which is a reminiscent of Kagara, a settlement that flourished around 1757c. According to oral tradition, Kagara was ransacked by an expedition sent by Bawa-jangwarzo as part of the wars that ensued between Katsina and Gobir. At that time the area was under the kingdom of Katsina until 1824 when Kazaure Emirate was curved out by the Sakkwato Caliphate. A number of legendary wells surround the old site of Kagara which is about 2 kilometers northwest of the present day Gwiwa town. The number of these wells suggest the size and influence of Kagara at that point in time. Other artefacts could also be found to illuminate on the historical significance of the area. There also exists a vast forest which served as fortress as well as pasture during intertribal wars before the advert of the Sakkwato Jihad in the 18th century. Gwiwa town was once a district headquarters at the inception of the indirect rule by the British. However, this was reverted and Gwiwa was reduced to a colonial out-post until in 1992 when it was made a Local Government headquarters. Generally, the area is arable and fertile. However the land is mainly of Katsina basic complex especially northward of Gwiwa. While some traces of sand dumes are found in the southern part of the local Government Area. It had an area of 450 km2 and a population of 124,517 at the 2006 census.

Rigasa is a sub-urban settlement within a very close proximity to Kaduna metropolis, Kaduna, Nigeria. It is one of the largest and densely populated areas in Nigeria, with an estimate of three million inhabitants. It hosts villages, such as Danmani, Nariya, Makera, Mashi, Hayin Malam Bello, Sabon-garin Rigasa, Makarfi Road,Kwate, Mai-giginya, among others. Covering about 14 by 8kilometers. Rigasa is one of the 255 wards The community has the largest public basic school in the sub-saharan Africa, initiated by his Excellency, Nasir Ahmed Elrufai. Also, it hosts the Kaduna-Abuja train station. It is believed that Rigasa hosts important dignitaries; such as the President of Universal Writers and Authors(UWA), Air Vice Marshal Maisaka(late), Former President of UWA, Chairman, Igabi Local Government, not to mention several Associate Professors and Doctors who are currently living within the community. Before the 2000 Religion crisis in Kaduna state, different tribes were living in Rigasa but presently, it is known as Hausa community.
