The Mankato MoonDogs are an amateur baseball team that plays in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball league. Their home games are played at ISG Field in Mankato, Minnesota. [1] The MoonDogs have been active in the Mankato community with frequent player and mascot appearances at local events and through the MoonDogs Fit Program.
The team started play in 1999 as the Mankato Mashers and were renamed in 2002 when the franchise was acquired by Joe Schwei. [2] [3] The Moondogs were again sold in January 2013 to Mark Ogren. [4] The current ownership group of Chad Superenant and Kyle Smith took over the club in 2018. [5]
From 2008 to 2018 the MoonDogs made the playoffs eight of eleven season, making it to the NWL Summer Collegiate World Series on three occasions. In 2014 the MoonDogs were defeated by the Lakeshore Chinooks in a two-game series sweep. [6]
As seen in the “Notable Alumni” page, the MoonDogs do have a track record for producing MLB talent. Such names include Nick Goody, Brandon Crawford, Neil Wagner, Billiam Shadow, Cole De Vres, and many others. In addition to their successful track record, the MoonDogs are also beloved in their community. Packed night games provide a unique and exciting experience for all citizens both old and young to enjoy America’s favorite past time. Additionally, being one of the first baseball teams ever founded, the MoonDogs represent a pillar of the Mankato community.

The team's General Manager, Tyler Kuch, is a native of Mankato, Minnesota, Walker Regier, the team's Assistant General Manager is from Southern Minnesota, he previously interned for the Willmar Stingers, another Northwoods League team.
The MoonDogs also have summer internships available for students looking for possible careers in sports. The positions include Media Relations, Promotions/Community Relations, Marketing, Sales, and Camera / Video Operations.
Listed at 6'3" and 210 lbs, the MoonDogs mascot throws and bats right pawed. [7] Muttnik can be seen mingling with the crowd during games or at various community events throughout the year.
The Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox were a summer collegiate wood-bat baseball club based in Marysville, California, in the United States, that began as an independent professional team in 1995. They played their home games at Bryant Field, adjacent to Ellis Lake, in Marysville from 2002 to 2022. The team name was changed to the Marysville Gold Sox in 2010 to more particularly identify the city in which the team was located, but had since reverted to "Yuba-Sutter".
The Madison Mallards are a collegiate summer baseball team based in Madison, Wisconsin that plays in the Northwoods League. Warner Park on Madison's Northside is the team's home field.
The Duluth Huskies are an amateur baseball team playing in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball league. They have been operating in Duluth, Minnesota since 2003. The Huskies play home games at Wade Stadium in Duluth, which was built in 1941. The team plays 72 games throughout the summer, 36 home and 36 away. The team mascot is Harley D. Huskie. Huskies Games are streamed on Northwoods League TV.
The Northwoods League is a collegiate summer baseball wooden bat league. All players in the league must have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate. The league is amateur, and players are not paid, so as to maintain their college eligibility. Graduated senior pitchers are also eligible to play in the Northwoods League. Each team may have four of these players at a time.

The Eau Claire Express is a collegiate summer baseball team playing in the Northwoods League. Their home games are played at Carson Park, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

ISG Field is a stadium in Mankato, Minnesota with a capacity of 4,000. It is primarily used for baseball, and is the home field of the Mankato Moondogs of the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball league. Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato West High School, Loyola Catholic School, and Mankato Area Youth Baseball Association also use the venue.
The Green Bay Rockers are a baseball team that plays in the Northwoods League, a collegiate summer baseball league. The team joined the league as the Bullfrogs as an expansion franchise for the 2007 season along with the Battle Creek Bombers. Before the 2019 season, the Bullfrogs were renamed the Booyah, moved from their original stadium of Joannes Stadium to Capital Credit Union Park, and switched divisions from the Northwoods League South Division to the Great Lakes West Division.

Their name refers variously to a previous Battle Creek baseball team, the Michigan Battle Cats, to Apple Jacks manufactured by Battle Creek-based Kellogg's, and to a "Jack of All Trades" as someone with multiple skills. Also, a "jack" is another term for a home run, and Cracker Jacks are often eaten by baseball fans during the game.
The Prospect League is a collegiate summer baseball league comprising teams of college players from North America and beyond. All players in the league must have NCAA eligibility remaining in order to participate. So as to maintain their college eligibility, players are not paid. Beginning in 2012, the league added four games to the season, making a total of 60 games per team.
The Schaumburg Boomers are a professional baseball team based in Schaumburg, Illinois. The Boomers compete in the Frontier League (FL) as a member of the West Division and have won four league championships since their founding in 2011. They are the Frontier League's team with the most titles since their existence. The Growlers were founded in 2013 and played their first game on May 28, 2014, losing to the then defending league champion Madison Mallards 6-2. The Growlers played their first home game on May 30, 2014, beating the Battle Creek Bombers 13-3. The team plays its home games at Homer Stryker Field.
