Manthani is a municipal town in Manthani mandal in Peddapalli district of the Indian state of Telangana. It is located in Manthani mandal [1] on the banks of the river Godavari.[ citation needed ].Manthani is nearest town of Godavarikhani , Ramagundam & Peddapalli.

Geography

Manthani is surrounded by the sacred Godavari River. Manthani assembly constituency is the largest constituency in Telangana in terms of area.[ citation needed ] The Current MLA of Manthani is Sridhar Babu , from the Indian National Congress.This is his fifth term as the MLA of Manthani.

BUS - Manthani is connected by road through TSRTC depot named MANTHANI-MNTY. Mostly buses ply to Karimnagar, Hyderabad,Godavarikhani,Bhupalapally,Warangal,Bhadrachalam,Chandrapur,Dharmavaram,Mancherial etc.,

Train - Manthani has no Railway line .It’s Nearest Railway Station is Ramagundam & Peddapalli Junction.

Air - Nearest Airport is RGIA at Hyderabad . Under UDAAN plan central government has plan to develop a new airport at Basanthnagar near Ramagundam .

According to an inscription of Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya at Dwarakapeetam and Pushpagiri Peetam, Adi Shankara had visited Manthani. [2] A ruined Shiva temple, once-prominent dating back to the period of Kakatiya Dynasty, known as Gautameshwara, is found in Manthani. It is known for elaborate carvings and fine sculptures similar to that of main Kakatiya temples such as the Thousand Pillar Temple in Warangal.

Peddapalli is a town, Revenue Division and has a Railway Junction in Peddapalli District in the Indian state of Telangana. It is the headquarters of the Peddapalli District and Peddapalli mandal. It is located about 197 kilometres North of the state capital Hyderabad, 36 kilometres from Karimnagar, 28 kilometres from Ramagundam. Peddapalli has a railway junction named PDPL which connects PDPL - KRMR - NZB railway line and New Delhi (NDLS) - Chennai Central (MAS) railway line. There are two trains that terminate here. Duddilla Sridhar Babu is an Indian politician from Indian National Congress and is a member of the Telangana Assembly from Manthani Constituency,Peddapalli district which he won for the fifth time as MLA in December 2023. He is a senior Minister in the Telangana Government holding the crucial portfolios of Information Technology, Electronics & Communication, Industry & Commerce and Legislative Affairs. Sridhar Babu is one of the senior most leaders in the Telangana Congress Party, and is an AICC All India Congress Committee Secretary attached to the AICC General Secretary, in charge of Karnataka since July 2022.He was the Minister for Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, Legal Metrology and Legislative Affairs in the United Government of Andhra Pradesh prior to that state being divided.
