Marco Khan [lower-alpha 1] (born Marco Khanlian; [lower-alpha 2] March 27, 1961) is an Iranian-born Armenian-American actor and stunt performer. [1] He has appeared in numerous well-known film and television series like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Iron Man, and 10,000 BC, as well as numerous independent and short films.
Khan was born in Tehran, Iran to Armenian parents; the son of Anna (née Karamian) and Levon Khanlian. His father was born in Lebanon but was raised in Iran, where he met Khan's mother, whose parents were from Georgia and she was born in Babol, Iran. [2] Marco and younger brother, Aleko, left Iran at age 11 in pursuit of higher education. Schooled in a Mekhitarist school, the Moorat Raphaelian, in Venice, Italy, and then in Catalina, California – Marco now calls Los Angeles home.
At age 17, Marco picked up English as his 4th language and assumed the responsibility as the caretaker for his entire family. He operated a series of restaurants (Marco's Pizzeria) for 12 years to support his family. He has a son too, that he has raised on his own. Marco had a short experience before getting into acting in Semi-Pro soccer and professional wrestling nicknamed "The Persian Terror".

Abbas I, commonly known as Abbas the Great, was the fifth shah of Safavid Iran from 1588 to 1629. The third son of Shah Mohammad Khodabanda, he is generally considered one of the greatest rulers of Iranian history and the Safavid dynasty.
The Ilkhanate or Il-khanate, also known as the Ilkhanids, and known to the Mongols as Hülegü Ulus, was a Mongol khanate established from the southwestern sector of the Mongol Empire. Howard Conklin Baskerville was an American missionary teacher. His life ambition was to become a pastor. Vakhtang VI, also known as Vakhtang the Scholar, Vakhtang the Lawgiver and Ḥosaynqolī Khan, was a Georgian monarch of the royal Bagrationi dynasty. He ruled the East Georgian Kingdom of Kartli as a vassal of Safavid Persia from 1716 to 1724. One of the most important and extraordinary statesman of early 18th-century Georgia, he is known as a notable legislator, scholar, critic, translator and poet. His reign was eventually terminated by the Ottoman invasion following the disintegration of Safavid Persia, which forced Vakhtang into exile in the Russian Empire. Vakhtang was unable to get the tsar's support for his kingdom and instead had to permanently stay with his northern neighbors for his own safety. On his way to a diplomatic mission sanctioned by Empress Anna, he fell ill and died in southern Russia in 1737, never reaching Georgia.
The Karabakh Khanate was a khanate under Iranian and later Russian suzerainty, which controlled the historical region of Karabakh, now divided between modern-day Armenia and Azerbaijan. In terms of structure, the Karabakh Khanate was a miniature version of Iranian kingship. The administrative and literary language in Karabakh until the end of the 19th century was Persian, with Arabic being used only for religious studies, despite the fact that most of the Muslims in the region spoke a Turkic dialect.

Loris Haykasi Tjeknavorian is an Iranian Armenian composer and conductor. He has appeared internationally as a conductor, serving as the principal conductor of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra from 1989 to 1998 and later from 1999 to 2000. The Erivan Khanate, also known as Chokhur-e Sa'd, was a khanate that was established in Afsharid Iran in the 18th century. Nader Shah Afshar was the founder of the Afsharid dynasty of Iran and one of the most powerful rulers in Iranian history, ruling as shah of Iran (Persia) from 1736 to 1747, when he was assassinated during a rebellion. He fought numerous campaigns throughout the Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and South Asia, such as the battles of Herat, Mihmandust, Murche-Khort, Kirkuk, Yeghevārd, Khyber Pass, Karnal, and Kars. Because of his military genius, some historians have described him as the Napoleon of Persia, the Sword of Persia, or the Second Alexander. Nader belonged to the Turkoman Afshars, one of the seven Qizilbash tribes that helped the Safavid dynasty establish their power in Iran.

Afsharid Iran, also referred as the Afsharid Empire, was an Iranian empire established by the Turkoman Afshar tribe in Iran's north-eastern province of Khorasan, establishing the Afsharid dynasty that would rule over Iran during the mid-eighteenth century. The dynasty's founder, Nader Shah, was a successful military commander who deposed the last member of the Safavid dynasty in 1736, and proclaimed himself Shah.
Set Khan Astvatsatourian was an Iranian–Armenian businessman, ambassador to Great Britain, envoy to the Ottoman empire, military advisor to Fath-Ali Shah, and a member of the Davidkhanian family. He played a leading role in the modernization of the Persian military, working with close friend Abbas Mirza, the Crown Prince of Iran, to reform the military during The Great Game. Set Khan is immortalized in stone holding his Ottoman-jeweled dagger within the "Asia Group" statuary at the Prince Albert Memorial in London's Hyde Park.
Alexander Khan Setkhanian (1865–1953) was an Iranian general, the Chief of Staff of the Cossack Brigade, a Commander in the Iranian Imperial Army, and a member of the Davidkhanian family.
