Margaret Fefilova Styer (formerly Marharyta Fefilava; [1] born 31 May 1997) is a Belarusian professional pool player from Minsk, Belarus. Fefilova has won a total of 29 Belarusian national women's championships, with an additional three national championships in mixed competitions against both men and women. She is the first player from Belarus to win a medal at the European Pool Championships, a bronze medal in the nine-ball competition in 2015. She also reached the final of the European Girls Championship in 2014, losing 3–6 to Kamila Khodjaeva.

Fefilova is a regular player on the Euro Tour and the Baltic Pool League. In 2017, she became the number one ranked player on the Euro Tour for the first time after winning two Tour events, the Dutch Open and the Portugal Open. In 2019, she reached three finals, bringing her career total to six finals on the Euro Tour. Fefilova alongside Yana Shut were the first Belarusian billiard players to receive state funding.

Career

Junior career (2011–2014)

Fefilova saw her first success in 2011 when she played in her first national eight-ball competition where she reached the semi-finals. [2] The following year, she won her first national championship title in the junior women's championships in nine-ball and first participated in the European Girls Championships ten-ball competition, reaching the quarter-finals. [2] In October, she won the final of the Belarusian eight-ball championship against Yana Shut. [2] The following season, she succeeded in winning two competitions at the national women's championships. In the eight-ball final, she defeated Anastasiya Tumilovich 4–1 and in nine-ball, she won 5–0 against Natalya Kozlovsky. [2]

In early 2013, victories followed in the Belarusian under-18 championship and the nine-ball cup competition. Later that season she first competed in the nine-ball Baltic Pool League held in Tartu and reached the final where she won 7–4 against Agnė Jarušauskaitė. [2] Shortly after, she also won the ten-ball national championship. In the 2013 European Girls Championships, Fjafilawa twice reached the quarter-finals. In September, Fefilova defeated Simona Milišauskaitė to win her second Baltic Pool League championship in Riga, Latvia. [2]

In March 2014, Fefilova became the Belarusian under-18 champion in the disciplines of both eight-ball and nine-ball. [2] Fjafilawa played in the 2014 European Pool Championship, entering the main women's nine-ball competition for the first time, however, she lost to defending champion Jasmin Ouschan 8–7. [2] She also entered the junior events, reaching the semi-final of the eight-ball competition, and reached the final of the nine-ball competition, losing 3–6 to Dianna Khodjaeva. [2] Fjafilawa competed for the junior national team at both the 2014 and 2015 European Girls Championships, where the team reached the semi-finals in 2014. [3]

Adult career (2015–present)

In April 2015, Fefilova won the first Belarusian medal at the European Championships. After defeating Louise Furberg and Kristina Tkach, she reached the semi-final of straight pool, losing to Ouschan 36–75 and earning a bronze medal. [4] In 2016, Fefilova won her third Baltic Pool League championship, defeating Ukrainian player Daryna Sirantschuk 6–2 in her hometown of Minsk. [2] Also in nine-ball, Fjafilawa won her first medal on the Euro Tour at the 2016 North Cyprus Open, reaching the final where she lost 3–7 to Kristina Tkach. [5] The following season, she won her first event on the Tour, defeating Oliwia Czupryńska 7–2 in the final of the 2017 Dutch Open. [6] Later that season, she won her second event at the 2017 Braga Open, defeating Katarzyna Wesołowska 7–4 in the final. [7] After the Braga Open, she finished the season ranked as the number one player on Tour. [8]

The following two seasons saw Fefilova reach the final of both the 2018 and 2019 Austria Open events. She played Jasmin Ouschan in the final of both events, losing both, losing 2–7 and 1–7 respectively. [9] In addition to the Austria Open, she reached the final of both the 2019 Klagenfurt Open and 2019 Treviso Open, losing to Tkach on both occasions. [10] Fjafilawa won a further series of national championships, taking her total to 29 titles in 2019. [11]

Mario He is an Austrian professional pool player. He is a former winner of the European Pool Championships, and winner of both the 2017 and 2019 World Cup of Pool events alongside Albin Ouschan.

The 2011 European Pool Championships was a series of professional pool championships that took place at the Steel Palace, in Brandenburg, Germany. The events were played between 23 March and 3 April 2011 were part of the European Pool Championships; and featured events for men, women and wheelchair players across four pool disciplines: straight Pool, eight-ball, nine-ball, and ten-ball. The tournament was hosted by the European Pocket Billiard Federation and organised by the International Billiard Promotion, with the final of the men's nine-ball event broadcast on Eurosport. Austria was the most successful nation, winning three events – all by Jasmin Ouschan. Jouni Tähti won two of the three wheelchair events, losing just one match in the final of the nine-ball tournament to Henrik Larsson.

The 2018 Dynamic Billiard Leende Open, was the fourth Euro Tour 9-Ball pool event in 2018. The event was won by America's Shane Van Boening who defeated Albania's Eklent Kaçi 9–8 in the final. Unlike other Euro Tour events, the field was open to other nations outside of Europe. Van Boening became the only American after Johnny Archer in 2000 to win a Euro Tour event. In making the final, Eklent had been in the semi-final or better of the last 5 Euro Tour events.

Sanjin Pehlivanović is a Bosnian professional pool player. He is an eight-time junior European Pool Championships champion, winning events 8-Ball, 9-Ball, and 10-Ball. In 2021, he also received a runners-up medal in the European championship 9-Ball event, losing in the final to Germany's Joshua Filler.

The 2019 Treviso Open was a nine-ball pool tournament, and the second Euro Tour event of the 2019 season. The event was held from 8 to 11 May 2019, at the Best Western Premier BHR Treviso Hotel in Treviso, Italy. The event had a total prize pool of €38,000 with the winner of each event receiving €4,500. The event followed the Leende Open, and preceded the Austria Open.

The event was held from 13 to 16 June 2019, at the Alpina, Wellness & Sporthotel in Sankt Johann im Pongau, Austria. The event followed the Treviso Open, won by Poland's Konrad Juszczyszyn, and preceded the Veldhoven Open.

Kristina Olegovna Tkach is a Russian professional pool player. She became the 2017 WPA World Nine-ball Junior Championship winner, defeating Lee Woo-jin in the final 9–6. Tkach is a four time European champion having won the eight-ball event in 2016 and 2019, as well as Straight pool in 2017 and 2019. In addition, she is a nine-time Junior European Champion.

The 2019 European Pool Championships was a series of professional pool championships that took place at the Best Western Premier in Treviso, Italy. The event was played between 26 April and 8 May 2019 and was the 39th edition of the European Pool Championships that were first held in 1980. The championships saw events for men, women, under 23s and wheelchairs across five disciplines; straight pool, eight-ball, nine-ball, ten-ball and a team event.

Ina Kaplan is a German professional pool player. She is an eleven-time German national champion and is the second female player to win three of four disciplines in one event at the championships.

The 2019 Veldhoven Open, officially known as the 2019 Dynamic Billard Veldhoven Open, was a professional nine-ball pool tournament and the fourth Euro Tour event of 2019. It was held at the NH Koningshof in Veldhoven, Netherlands. The men's event was held from 1 to 3 August, and the women's event was held from 2 to 4 August. The event followed the Austria Open and preceded the Klagenfurt Open.

Oliwia Zalewska née Czuprynska is a Polish professional pool player. Zalewska is a former WPA World Nine-ball junior champion, winning the ladies event in 2011. She also reached the final the following year, losing in the final to Diana Khodjaeva. She is also a three-time winner of Euro Tour events, winning the 2015 Treviso Open, 2019 Antalya Open and 2019 Klagenfurt Open. In addition, she has reached four finals, and won a total of seven medals at events on the tour.

The 2019 Klagenfurt Open was a professional nine-ball pool tournament and the sixth of seven Euro Tour events of the 2019 Euro Tour season. The men's event was held between 11 and 13 October, whilst the women's event was held from 13 to 14 October 2019, held at the Sportpark Klagenfurt in Klagenfurt, Austria. The event featured a total prize fund of €38,000, with the winner of each event winning €4,500.

Tomasz Kapłan is a Polish professional pool player. He won the 2011 European Pool Championships in the discipline of Straight pool. He has played on the Euro Tour since 2009, reaching the semi-finals on three occasions, most recently at the 2018 Treviso Open. Kaplan has reached the final on one occasion, at the 2013 Bosnia & Herzegovina Open, losing to Mateusz Śniegocki.

The 2019 Antalya Open was a professional nine-ball pool tournament held from 7 to 10 November 2019 in the Limak Atlantis Resort in Antalya, Turkey. The event was the sixth and final Euro Tour event of 2019, following the Klagenfurt Open. The men's event was won by Estonia's Denis Grabe, who won his third Tour win, defeating Eklent Kaçi 9–2. The women's event was won by Poland's Oliwia Zalewska, who won her first Tour event. She defeated Tina Vogelmann in the final 7–6.

Kateryna Polovinchuk is a Ukrainian professional pool player. She has won Ukrainian national championships across different disciplines 20 times, and in 2016 she was runner-up in the European Eight-ball Championship.

The 2020 Treviso Open was a professional nine-ball pool event, the only Euro Tour tournament held in 2020. The event was played from 20 to 22 February 2020 at the BHR Treviso Hotel in Treviso, Italy. The event had a total prize pool of €38,000, with the winner of each event receiving €4,500.
