Sir Hugh Selby Norman-Walker was a British colonial official. He served in India from 1938 to 1948. Joining the Colonial Office in 1949,he successively served as an Administrative Officer and an Assistant Secretary in Nyasaland,and was seconded to the Cabinet Office of the Federation of Rhodesia and Nyasaland in 1953. He returned to Nyasaland to become Development Secretary in 1954,Deputy Financial Secretary in 1960 and Secretary to the Treasury in 1961. He remained in the government until 1965 when Nyasaland gained independence as Malawi in 1964. In 1965,Sir Hugh was posted to the Bechuanaland Protectorate as Her Majesty's Commissioner. Knighted in 1966,in September of the same year he witnessed the independence of the Protectorate as Botswana. In the next year,Norman-Walker was posted to the Seychelles as the Governor and Commander-in-Chief but his short tenure came to an end when he was assigned to succeed Sir Michael Gass,who was in turn appointed High Commissioner for the Western Pacific,as Colonial Secretary of Hong Kong in 1969. He was once rumoured to be the designated candidate to succeed Sir David Trench as the Governor of Hong Kong,but the rumour soon died out when the post was taken up by Sir Murray MacLehose,a career diplomat,in 1971.
North Lantau New Town is the newest of the nine new towns in Hong Kong,a special administrative region of China,located on the northern coast of the Lantau Island in the New Territories. It covers Tung Chung,Tai Ho Wan,Siu Ho Wan,other parts of northeast Lantau Island,and the reclaimed land along the coast between them. It is the only new town in the Islands District and the youngest new town in Hong Kong. As the commercial,residential and community facilities in the New Town are concentrated in Tung Chung,it has been renamed Tung Chung New Town in recent official government documents.
Society for Protection of the Harbour(SPH) (Chinese:保護海港協會) is a Hong-Kong-based organisation founded in November 1995. It is a charitable,non-political and non-profit making green group. The objectives of the organisation are to protect the Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong from destruction caused by Government's excessive reclamation and improper development,and to arouse public aspirations for the Harbour. To preserve the Harbour,SPH has raised a number of objections on related Government policies,undertaken numerous conservation projects,suggested constructive urban planning along the waterfront and carried out public education on harbour protection.
Sir Donald Collin Cumyn Luddington,was a British colonial government official and civil servant who served firstly in the Hong Kong Government and became District Commissioner,New Territories and the Secretary for Home Affairs successively,during which he had also served as an official member of the Legislative Council. He was later promoted to Oceania and was High Commissioner for the Western Pacific and Governor of the Solomon Islands during the period from 1973 to 1976. He returned to Hong Kong in 1977 to replace Sir Ronald Holmes as chairman of the Public Service Commission. He was the second person,after Sir Jack Cater,to hold the post of Commissioner of ICAC from 1978 until his retirement in 1980.
Act Now is a slogan proposed by the Chief Executive of Hong Kong,Donald Tsang Yam-kuen,on May 29,2010,with the meaning of "it's time to take action". It served as the theme for the promotion of the 2012 political reform proposal. In the logo of "Act Now",the color blue represents the ocean,and the stroke of the Chinese character "起" resembles a ship sailing in the sea,symbolizing setting sail and embarking on a journey. The slogan aimed to encourage Hong Kong citizens to support the political reform proposal put forward by the government in 2012. However,some opponents changed "起錨" to "超错" to express their dissatisfaction. After about a month of "Act Now" promotion,the proposal was ultimately approved on June 24th and 25th.
The Palazzo is a large privately owned residential property located next to Fo Tan station in Fo Tan of Sha Tin District,Hong Kong. A pedestrian bridge connects The Palazzo to the station. Jointly developed by Sino Land and the MTR Corporation,it has a total of 1,375 flats as well as 230 parking spaces. The Palazzo was sold off-plan starting in May 2008,while construction completed in March 2009. Currently,The Palazzo is managed by Premier Management Services,a subsidiary of the MTR Corporation.
North Lantau Hospital is a public hospital in central Tung Chung,on Hong Kong Lantau Island. It was completed in late 2012 and began services on 24 September 2013. The hospital has a 24-hour accident and emergency service,and various outpatient services including the North Lantau Community Health Centre. This hospital belongs to Kowloon West Cluster of Hospital Authority.

The Resettlement Department was a department of the Government of Hong Kong,responsible for constructing resettlement estates for homeless refugees,established in 1954. In 1973,the Resettlement Department and the Building Section of the Urban Services Department were merged to form the Housing Department,which acts as the Housing Authority's executive body.
Dai pai dong is a type of traditional food stall in Hong Kong. It was popular in Hong Kong during the 1960s and 1970s. The literal meaning of dai pai dong in English is “big license stall”. The characteristics of dai pai dong are a lack of air-conditioners,unclean environment,and various kinds of food. Starting from 1980s,the government stopped issuing new licenses and began buying them back. Due to its hygienic problem and the deaths of the license holders,most dai pai dong closed down and were replaced by different kinds of restaurants. Urban development has also had an impact on dai pai dong. There are only 25 dai pai dong left in Hong Kong according to the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department,which manages the licenses. Because of the desire to preserver the local food culture,it has been suggested that licenses should be issued again for new and existing dai pai dong owners.

The HK2030 Study aimed to provide strategic framework for future land use in New Territories to address long-term housing demands in the New Development Areas (NDAs) of Kwu Tung North (KTN) and Fanling North (FLN). Chun Yeung Estate is a public housing estate in Fo Tan,New Territories,Hong Kong. It is the only public housing estate in Fo Tan,located at the junction of Wong Chuk Yeung Street and Kwei Tei Street. It comprises 5 blocks and 1 shopping centre with total of 4,846 flats. Its name prefix "Chun" means "horse" in English since Sha Tin Racecourse is located in Fo Tan. It was completed in 2020.

Between 1978 and 2000,a number of detention centres were formed by the Corrections Department in Hong Kong for the internment of Vietnamese refugees. As the government of Hong Kong took more actions against the refugees,tightened restrictions and deporting them to Vietnam,the centres were depopulated and disestablished over time.
