Marta Repullo i Grau (born 1976) is an Andorran writer, working in the Catalan language.

Born in Barcelona, Repullo soon moved to La Seu d'Urgell. She received her degree from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. [1]

A journalist by profession, during her career, she has worked with various media organizations throughout the Pyrenees; among these are Ràdio Seu, Ona Andorra, and El Periòdic d'Andorra . She has also developed her career in the arena of international cultural management and cooperation. Her writing career began early; at the age of fourteen she won second prize for her writing in a contest sponsored by the Generalitat de Catalunya. [2] In 2001, she released Carícies de la lletra, a volume of poetry. Her work in shorter forms has won a number of prizes.

Awards

Among her awards are the Premi de narrativa curta del Consell Comarcal de l'Alt Urgell, which she received in 2000, [3] and the Premi Recull del Concurs de Poesia de la Biblioteca Pública del Govern d'Andorra, which she won in 2001. [4]

David Castillo i Buïls is a Spanish poet, writer, and literary critic. He started out as a poet with counterculture and underground publications in the 1970s, although his first published work, a declaration of principles, was the biography of Bob Dylan in 1992. Three years earlier, he had been the anthologist of Ser del segle, which brought together leading voices of the generation of the 1980s. They were followed by a series of poems among them "Game over", which won the Carles Riba Poetry Award. Then he began a career as a writer with novels like El cel de l'infern and No miris enrere, that were well accepted both by critics and the general public. El cel de l'infern was awarded the Crexells Prize for the best Catalan novel of the year in 1999. No miris enrere won the Premi Sant Jordi de novel·la of 2001. Castillo has received Atlàntida awards for journalism three times, and he has also been awarded the Italian "Tratti Poetry Prize for the best foreign poet" for his anthology of poetry translated into Italian. He has been organizing various poetic cycles. He is a founder of Poetry Week in Barcelona, and has been a director of it since 1997.

The COVID-19 pandemic in Andorra was a part of the worldwide pandemic of coronavirus disease 2019 caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2. The virus was confirmed to have reached Andorra on 2 March 2020, when a 20-year-old man returned to the country from Milan, Italy. With a total population of 77,543, on 7 December 2020, the infection rate was 1 case per 11 inhabitants, and the death rate was 1 case per 994 inhabitants.

The literature of Andorra is part of Catalan literature, that is, of literature in the Catalan language. It is the literature represented by the writings created in the Principality of Andorra or by Andorran authors.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">2023 Andorran parliamentary election</span>

In the parliamentary elections in Andorra on 2 April 2023, the incumbent liberal-conservative coalition between Democrats for Andorra (DA) and Committed Citizens (CC) won an absolute majority led by Prime Minister Xavier Espot. This is the fourth legislature in a row in which DA governs the country. A new party, Concord, emerged in second place, taking the opposition leadership held by the Social Democratic Party since 2019, which fell to third place by losing four seats.

Muriel Villanueva i Perarnau is a Spanish writer. With a degree in Literary theory and Comparative literature from the University of Barcelona and a diploma in Music education from the University of Valencia, she was a professor at the School of Writing at the University of Barcelona between 2006 and 2014. Subsequently, she works as a writing teacher with several organizations. In 2020, she received one of the grants for literary creation from the Institució de les Lletres Catalanes for the project El refugi del Tarek 2.
