Maryvale High School is part of the Phoenix Union High School District. The school opened in 1963 and is located at 3415 North 59th Avenue northwest of downtown Phoenix. The first graduating class was in 1964. Maryvale's enrollment is 2,861 students. [2] The school predominantly serves students from partner elementary districts Cartwright and Isaac. Maryvale is a comprehensive high school known for maintaining the best attendance and graduation rate (91.4%) in the district. Maryvale's curriculum consists of over 60 AP and Honors sections in all academic and elective classes. Students also have the opportunity to be dual enrolled with Phoenix College earning college credit alongside their high school credit. Maryvale seniors consistently receive scholarships totaling over $1,000,000. Maryvale's staff includes six National Board Certified Teachers. Maryvale is a Performing school, according to the Arizona Department of Education. [3]
The School was designed by the local architecture firm of Weaver & Drover. The construction contract to build the campus was awarded to Manhattan-Dickmann Construction Co. of Phoenix. [4]

Marcos de Niza High School is a high school located in Tempe, Arizona. It was founded in 1971 and it has an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students. The school's mascot is the Padre. The school is a part of the Tempe Union High School District and mainly serves students in central Tempe, as well as the Town of Guadalupe.
Henry Cejudo is an American professional mixed martial artist and freestyle wrestler. He is a former UFC Flyweight Champion and Bantamweight Champion. He is the fourth UFC fighter to hold titles in two different weight classes simultaneously, and the second to defend titles in two different weight divisions. Cejudo is also the only person to win an Olympic gold medal as a wrestler and a UFC title. He is considered to be among the greatest combat athletes of all time due to his accomplishments in MMA and freestyle wrestling.

Demetrious Johnson is an American mixed martial artist. He currently competes in ONE Championship, where he is the current ONE Flyweight Champion. He is the inaugural and former UFC Flyweight Champion. Known for his quick striking and elusive movement, Johnson has also landed the most takedowns in UFC flyweight history and co-holds the record for the latest finish in UFC history with a submission win at 4:59 of the fifth round against Kyoji Horiguchi. He is the only UFC fighter to record over 10 takedowns in three different fights. Johnson also holds the record for most finishes in UFC flyweight history with 7. Johnson is widely regarded as one of the greatest mixed martial arts fighters of all time and is even considered to be the greatest fighter of all time.
Zachary Paul "Zach" Makovsky is an American mixed martial artist currently competing in the flyweight division of the Brave Combat Federation. He has competed in EliteXC, ShoXC, Bellator, and Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is the former Bellator Bantamweight World Champion.
John Dodson is an American mixed martial artist and bare-knuckle boxer who competes in the flyweight divisions of Rizin Fighting Federation and Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where in the latter promotion, he is the inaugural and current BKFC Flyweight Champion. Frankie Ozuna Saenz III is an American mixed martial artist who competed in the bantamweight division. A professional since 2009, he made a name for himself fighting mostly in his native state, where he was King of the Cage Flyweight Champion (135 lb), World Fighting Federation Featherweight Champion and Coalition of Combat Featherweight Champion and for his time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
Captain Eric Albarracin, is a retired American wrestler who was a 3X University National Champ, a 7X Armed Forces Champ and an US national team member in both Freestyle and Greco Roman. Internationally, Eric won silver medals in the freestyle 54 kg division at the Pan American Championships and at the Military World Wrestling Championships. Currently he coaches professional mixed martial arts competitors from Brazil, and in this capacity participated in The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 2 and The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil 3. After that Albarracin trained the Olympic champion and the former UFC Flyweight & Bantamweight Champion Henry Cejudo.. Albarracin was recruited to the first team he coached, Team Nogueira in Brazil which included Rodrigo Minotauro Nogueira, Minotouro Nogueira, Anderson Silva, & Júnior Dos Santos, Rony Jason, Patricio and Patricky Freire. It is in Brasil where he received the nickname Captain Americas. Eric now coaches at the Pitbull Brothers and Fight Ready. Captain Eric’s fighters include, Patricio “Pitbull” Freire is Bellator MMA’s Greatest Fighter of All time and 2 Division World Champion, Patricky Freire, who has the most knockouts In Bellator History and is also a Bellator Lightweight Champion. Patricio and Patricky Freire, AKA The Pitbull Brothers, are the first brothers in MMA history to be world champions simultaneously. Eric also trains UFC Flyweight Champion Deveison “Deus de Guerra” Figuereido. Albarracin also trains UFC Middleweight contender Paulo Costa, & UFC featherweight contender Korean Zombie.
