Mateusz Przybylko (born 9 March 1992) is a German high jumper of Polish descent. [1] He won the gold medal at the 2018 European Championships.
A member of Germany's track and field squad at the 2015 IAAF World Championships and the 2016 Summer Olympics, Przybylko cleared a personal best of 2.35 m. [2] Przybylko currently trains for the track and field squad at TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen under the tutelage of his coach Hans-Jörg Thomaskamp. [3]
At the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Przybylko competed for Germany, along with his fellow countryman Eike Onnen, in the men's high jump. [4] Leading up to his maiden Games, Przybylko jumped a height of 2.30 metres to surpass the IAAF Olympic entry standard (2.29) by a single centimetre at the 2015 Kurpfalz Gala in Weinheim. [2] During the qualifying phase, Przybylko elected to pass 2.17 at his second attempt and remained clean at 2.22, before he could not reach the 2.26-metre barrier with all three misses, ending his Olympic campaign in twenty-eighth place. Przybylko also came from a sporting family of Polish origin. Mateusz's father Mariusz previously played for one of his native country's regional football clubs, while his mother Violetta ran for the Polish track and field team in her youth. Mateusz's younger brothers and twins Kacper and Jakub inherited their father's sporting talent to compete internationally for Poland in football. [7]

Mutaz Essa Barsham is a Qatari track and field athlete who competes in the high jump and is the current Olympic Champion (2020). He is also the former World Champion and second highest jumper of all-time with a personal best of 2.43. He won gold at the 2017 World Championships in London, at the 2019 World Championships in Doha, as well as the 2022 World Championships in Eugene. At the Olympics, Barsham originally won the full set of medals with bronze at the London 2012 Summer Olympics, silver at the Rio 2016 Summer Olympics, and shared gold at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics. In 2021, his bronze in the London 2012 Summer Olympics was promoted to silver in a three-way tie for second due to disqualification of the original gold medalist. He was the Asian Indoor and World Junior champion in 2010, and won the high jump gold medals at the 2011 Asian Athletics Championships and 2011 Military World Games. He holds the Asian record in high jump.
Derek Drouin is a Canadian track and field athlete who competes in the high jump. He won gold at the 2016 Summer Olympics, and was the 2015 World Champion. He also won gold at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and the 2015 Pan American Games, and won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2013 World Championships. Drouin was originally awarded the bronze at the 2012 Olympics which was retroactively changed to silver when the original gold medalist Ivan Ukhov was stripped of his medal for doping violations.
Clemens Andreas Rapp is a German swimmer. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 200 m freestyle, finishing in 24th place in the heats, failing to qualify for the semifinals. His team was placed fourth in the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay.
Markus Rehm is a German Paralympic athlete, and in the long jump has won three Paralympic, six world and five European titles. He began in sports at age 20 and became a long jump F44 world champion in 2011. His club is TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen and he is a medical specialist. Rehm is nicknamed "The Blade Jumper", as he is a long jumper with a blade-type leg prosthesis. Rehm's right leg was amputated below the knee after a wakeboarding accident. He uses a carbon-fibre bladed prosthesis, from which he jumps off.
The men's 400 metres hurdles event at the 2016 Summer Olympics took place between 15–18 August at the Olympic Stadium. There were 47 competitors from 33 nations. The event was won by Kerron Clement of the United States, the nation's 19th victory in the men's long hurdles. Clement was the ninth man to win multiple medals in the event. Both Kenya and Turkey earned their first medals in the men's 400 metres hurdles, the former with Boniface Mucheru Tumuti's silver and the latter with Yasmani Copello's bronze.
The men's triple jump competition at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The event was held at the Olympic Stadium on 15–16 August. Forty-seven athletes from 35 nations competed. The event was won by Christian Taylor of the United States, the fifth man to successfully defend Olympic gold in the triple jump. It was the United States' eighth victory in the event. Just as in London four years earlier, Will Claye took silver; the two Americans were the 13th and 14th men to win multiple medals in the event. Dong Bin of China earned bronze, the nation's first medal in the men's triple jump.
Anneliese Rubie is an Australian sprinter. Also known as Anneliese Rubie-Renshaw, she was a semi finalist at the 2016 Rio Olympics, and the 2015 World Championships in Beijing. She also ran in the semi-finals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. She ran the second leg for the women's 4 × 400 m which made the Olympic final in 2016.
Sjef van den Berg is a retired Dutch competitive archer. He has won a total of two medals at the 2015 European Games, and eventually finished fourth in the men's individual archery at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Van der Berg currently trains at HBV Ontspanning in Sint-Oedenrode, under the tutelage of his coach Ron van der Hoff, a former Olympian at the Athens 2004 edition.

His personal best of 97.76 m is the German record, and ranks him second on the overall list behind Jan Železný. Vetter currently trains under Boris Obergföll and is a member of LG Offenburg's track and field squad. He was previously with SV Saar 05 Saarbrücken and Dresdner SC.

Representing his nation Germany at the 2016 Summer Olympics, Heinle registered his best jump at 8.25 metres from the national meet in Oberteuringen a year before the Games. He currently trains under Hungarian-born coach Tamas Kiss for LAV Stadtwerke Tübingen in Stuttgart.
