Max Jenkins (born March 13, 1985) is an American actor and writer. He starred as Max Carnegie in NBC's comedy-drama detective series The Mysteries of Laura . [1] He is also known for his appearances in the HBO web series High Maintenance . [2]
Jenkins was first seen on High Maintenance in the webisode "Olivia" in 2013, guest-starring opposite Heléne Yorke. [3] BuzzFeed lauded Jenkins and Yorke in their list of "16 Scene-Stealers From TV Comedy" in 2014, [4] while Indiewire praised "Olivia" as "one of the series' strongest and most popular episodes." [5]
Jenkins has also given critically acclaimed [6] [7] [8] performances in various New York theatre productions, [9] notably Unnatural Acts at Classic Stage Company. [10] The play, co-written by Jenkins and other members of the cast, [11] was nominated for three 2012 Drama Desk Awards, including Outstanding Play. [12]
Upon the premiere of The Mysteries of Laura on September 17, 2014, The Los Angeles Times cited Jenkins as "fabulous," adding that he "may deserve a show of his own." [13]
In August 2018, it was announced that Jenkins was cast as Christopher Doyle in the Netflix dark comedy series, Dead to Me . [14]
In 2022, he played Jeff in the world premiere production of Which Way to the Stage off-Broadway. [15]

The Mysteries of Laura is an American police procedural comedy-drama television series that aired on NBC from September 17, 2014, to March 2, 2016. It was developed by Jeff Rake, who also serves as an executive producer. The series, which stars Debra Messing as Detective Laura Diamond, was originally adapted from a Spanish television series Los misterios de Laura by Carlos Vila, Javier Holgado, and Gregorio Quintana de Uña. On May 8, 2015, NBC renewed The Mysteries of Laura for a second season of 13 episodes, which premiered on September 23, 2015. On November 9, 2015, NBC ordered three additional episodes for the second season. On May 14, 2016, NBC canceled the series after two seasons.
