Francis Asbury "Berry" Hendry was a Florida cattle rancher,politician,and military officer in the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. He was an influential figure amongst the Seminole living on reservations in Polk County,and near Fort Myers,Florida. Hendry was also a state senator for parts of Lee County,Hendry County,and Collier County,as well as serving as a state representative for Lee County for six terms from 1893 to 1904. He was known by the nickname "Berry."

Reid Moore Jr. is an American former politician in the state of Florida who served two non-consecutive terms in the Florida House of Representatives and as Mayor of West Palm Beach. Born in Tennessee,he earned a law degree from the University of Virginia before moving to Florida in 1959. Moore soon became involved with local politics in West Palm Beach,beginning with serving as a member of the Greater West Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 1963. Two years later,he mounted a successful campaign for city commissioner,an office he would hold from 1965 to 1969. During his tenure,he was chosen by his fellow commissioners to be Mayor of West Palm Beach from 1967 to 1968,as the city operated under the Council–manager form of government at the time.

A member of the Democratic Party,she was first elected after running unopposed to fill the seat vacated by her late husband,Paul Farr,who had died in a car accident. She ran for re-election the following year against four primary opponents;after no candidate received a majority of the vote,a runoff election was held,which Farr won. After leaving office in 1956,she continued to teach English and managed a family business.
