Merritt Island High School is a public high school located in Merritt Island, Florida. It was built in 1965.
Merritt Island High School is accredited. The school offers classes for grades 9-12, including Honors courses, Advanced Placement courses, and courses with the Dual Enrollment program at Eastern Florida State College. [2]
To graduate, students must earn a minimum of 26 credits. Each semester-course is equal to a half credit. There is also a variety of academies available for students to enroll in. Including the Advance Placement academy, Fame academy for the performing arts, and Davinci.

Canyon del Oro High School (CDO) is a comprehensive public high school in Oro Valley, Arizona, located 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Tucson at the base of Pusch Ridge. Established in 1964, CDO is one of three high schools of Amphitheater Public Schools and serves about 1,600 students in grades 9–12. The school name originates from the remote Canyon del Oro in the Santa Catalina Mountains north of Tucson, and the historic name of nearby Steam Pump Ranch on the National Register of Historic Places. The school mascot is the Dorado, a mythical Latin American warrior. The school colors are forest green and gold.

Danny Verpaele is an American football player and coach. He played as the free safety for the University of South Florida (USF) South Florida Bulls NCAA Division I college football team. Verpaele is a 2004 graduate of Merritt Island High School. Verpaele coached linebackers as a graduate assistant at Mississippi State, and is currently the safeties coach at Army Verpaele previously served as the defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Kennesaw State Owls. Before Kennesaw State, Verpaele served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Valdosta State, where he won a Division II National Championship in 2018. Prior to VSU, Verpaele served as offensive quality control and tight ends coach at Army, defensive backs coach at Jacksonville University, and he began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at VMI.
