Midhun Manuel Thomas is an Indian film director and screenwriter who works in the Malayalam film industry. [1] [2]

Personal life

Midhun married Fibi Kochupurackal on 1 May 2018 at St. Sebastian's Church in Paralikkunnu. [3] The couple have a son born in 2020. [4]

Career

Thomas began his career in the Malayalam film industry in 2014 as the scriptwriter of the film Ohm Shanthi Oshaana , directed by Jude Anthany, starring Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim. His directorial debut movie was 2015's Aadu , starring Jayasurya, Vijay Babu and Sunny Wayne. [5] Later he directed Annmariya Kalippilaanu (2016), Alamara (2017), Aadu 2 (2017) and Argentina Fans Kaattoorkadavu (2019). [6] In 2020, he directed Anjaam Pathiraa . [7]

Aadu 2 is a 2017 Indian Malayalam-language slapstick comedy film written and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and produced by Vijay Babu under Friday Film House. It is the sequel to the 2015 film Aadu, and stars an ensemble cast including Jayasurya, Saiju Kurup, Vinayakan,Vijay Babu, Sunny Wayne, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Anson Paul, Mamukkoya, Bhagath Manuel, Vineeth Mohan, Indrans, Baiju, Bijukuttan, Sudhi Koppa and Harikrishnan reprising their roles. Principal photography began on 13 September 2017. Aadu 2 which was one of the most anticipated film of the year released in India on 22 December 2017. Even though the first part of the movie didn't perform well, Aadu 2 became a blockbuster at the box office.

Abraham Ozler is a 2024 Indian Malayalam-language crime thriller film co-produced and directed by Midhun Manuel Thomas and written by Randheer Krishnan. The film stars Jayaram in the titular role alongside Mammootty in extended cameo appearance, Anaswara Rajan, Saiju Kurup, Arjun Ashokan, Arya Salim, Senthil Krishna, Jagadish, Anoop Menon and Dileesh Pothan in supporting roles. The film revolves around ACP Abraham Ozler's efforts to investigate the death of an IT employee and capture a serial killer, only known as "Birthday Killer".
