Background and education

Owor holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Public administration from Makerere University, Master of Business Administration in Strategic Human Resource Management from University of Leicester in UK, a certification in Global Business Leadership from INSEAD in France. [1] [4] [7] [8] He is a certified Predictive Index Psychometric Analyst. [1] He also holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree (Hons) from Makerere University. [4]

Owor was Certified as Professional Executive Coach by the Coach Masters Academy, Singapore. [4]

Owor is a professional Coach who is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). [3]

Career

Owor worked with British American Tobacco (BAT) in late 1990s as the regional human resource director for East and Southern Africa, he also served at BAT as the regional HR director for West and central Africa. [1] [8] [9]

In early 2000, Milton worked with Royal Dutch Shell as the Regional Human Resource Director Anglophone Africa. [8] [9] In mid 2000s, Owor served as the Africa Human Resource Director for General Electric. East Africa. [8] [9] [10]

In 2016, Owor served as a human resource consultant at Miphad business and human resources. [9]

In February 2017, Owor was appointed as the Head of Human Resources and Administration at NSSF Uganda. [11] [1] [8] [4] [12] [13] His job title was changed to the Chief People and Culture Officer on 01 July 2022. [1] [8] [4]

In 2021, Owor became a board member of the Industrial Training Council (ITC). [14] [15]

Owor is serving as an alternate director on the Board of directors of the Sprout Capital Investment. [3] He is a member of the Finance, Human Resource and Administration Committee for the Federation of Uganda Employers. [16] He is a member of the League of East Africa Directors (LEAD). [3]

Owor is the president of Rotary Club of Kampala Maisha. [6] [17]

Trainings and talks

Owor delivered a session titled "Leading Records Management in the New Edge" at the International Council on Archives through the ICA Africa programme. [8]

<span class="mw-page-title-main">National Social Security Fund (Uganda)</span> Quasi-government agency

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) aka NSSF Uganda is a quasi-government agency responsible for the collection, safekeeping, responsible investment, and distribution of retirement funds from employees of the private sector in Uganda who are not covered by the Government Retirement Scheme. Participation for both employers and employees is compulsory. The Uganda National Social Security Fund is the largest pension fund in the countries of the East African Community, with total assets of USh18.58 trillion, as of June 2023.

Syda Namirembe Bbumba is a Ugandan accountant, politician and banker. Uganda Clays Limited (UCL), commonly referred to as Uganda Clays, is a building materials manufacturer in Uganda. The company manufactures baked clay building products, using Italian-made heavy clay processing machinery. The clay is excavated using surface mining techniques. The company is listed on the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE), being the first equity to list on the exchange in 2000.

Richard Patrick Byarugaba is a Ugandan business executive, banker, and entrepreneur. He is the former managing director and chief executive officer of the National Social Security Fund (Uganda), a semi-autonomous retirement pension organisation for non-government employees in Uganda. He served in that capacity from November 2017 until November 2022. He was also listed in 2012 as one of the wealthiest individuals in Uganda.

She was appointed to this position in January 2019.

Samuel Kisakye Sejjaaka is a Ugandan accountant, academic and businessman. He is Principal and Country Team Leader at MAT ABACUS Business School. Between 1993 and 2014, he lectured at Uganda's oldest tertiary institution, Makerere University and rose to the position of Deputy Principal. In December 2014, he retired from the institution at age 50. He then helped establish Abacus Business School, Uganda's premier executive education institution. In 2019, Abacus Business school merged with the Management Accountancy Training Company (MAT) to form MAT ABACUS Business School.

From 2004 until 2014, he served as the founding chancellor of Gulu University, a public university.

Geraldine Ssali Busuulwa is a Ugandan accountant and business administrator. She serves as the Permanent Secretary in the Uganda Ministry of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives. She was appointed permanent secretary on the 15th July 2021.

George Mondo Kagonyera, also Mondo Kagonyera, is a Ugandan veterinarian, politician, academic, and university administrator. He is the immediate past chancellor of Makerere University, the oldest and largest university in Uganda. He was appointed to that position in 2007 by President Yoweri Museveni. After serving a full four year-term, he was re-appointed for another term in 2011, and was re-installed in January 2012.

Sarah Irene Walusimbi is a Ugandan lawyer and who serves as the Corporation Secretary of the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC).

Lorna Magara is the first woman to be elected chairperson of the Makerere University Council, since the founding of the university in 1922. She was elected to a renewable four-year term, effective 20 December 2018. The Council is a 27-member body that serves as the supreme governing organ of Uganda's largest and oldest public university.

Agnes Tibayeita Isharaza, is a Ugandan lawyer and corporate executive, who is the Company Secretary and Head of Legal Affairs at Uganda National Social Security Fund, effective 1 April 2019.

Richard Wejuli Wabwire is a Ugandan lawyer and judge, on the High Court of Uganda. He was appointed to the High Court on 8 February 2018.

Peninnah Tukamwesiga,, is a Ugandan lawyer, who specializes in employment and labor matters. As of March 2019, she serves on the board of the Uganda National Social Security Fund. NSSF Uganda is a retirement benefits company, with nearly US$3 billion in total assets, as of June 2018.

Olive Birungi Lumonya, is a Ugandan businesswoman and corporate executive who serves as the deputy director general of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority, effective 15 November 2021. Immediately before her current assignment, Birungi was the National Director of SOS Children's Villages Uganda, a non-government organization, that focuses on the needs of children.
