The Mindanao Development Authority (Filipino: Pangasiwaang Pangkaunlaran ng Mindanao, abbreviated MinDA) is a government agency of the Philippines created through Republic Act 9996 or the Mindanao Development Authority Act of 2010. The office is mandated to promote, coordinate and facilitate the active and extensive participation of all sectors to effect socioeconomic development of Mindanao. MinDA is the permanent Philippine Coordinating Office (PCOBE) for the Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), that ensures the active participation of Mindanao and Palawan in the sub-regional economic cooperation. [1] The agency is currently chaired by Maria Belen "Mabel" S. Acosta. [2]

In the morning of January 27, 2019, two bombs exploded at the Roman Catholic Cathedral of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Jolo, Sulu, Philippines. Twenty people were killed and 102 others injured. The bombings took place a week after the autonomy plebiscite held on January 21 for the creation of Bangsamoro. It is believed that the Abu Sayyaf carried out the attacks, and the Islamic State claimed responsibility. President Rodrigo Duterte responded by issuing an "all-out war" directive against the Abu Sayyaf. The bombings were widely condemned by other countries and organizations.

Halal literally means "permissible" in Arabic and refers to goods, including food items and services that are permissible to be consumed or availed under Sharia law, whereas haram refers to goods that are forbidden to be consumed or availed.
