The Ministry of Health and Medical Services (MHMS) (in Gilbertese, Botaki n Mwakuri ibukin te Mauri ao Katoki Aoraki) is a governmental ministry of Kiribati. It is partnered with the World Bank, Unicef, Australian Aid, UNFPA, and New Zealand Foreign Affairs and Trade. [1]

A health department or health ministry is a part of government which focuses on issues related to the general health of the citizenry. Subnational entities, such as states, counties and cities, often also operate a health department of their own. Health departments perform food inspections and other health related inspections, vaccination programs, free STD and HIV tests, tobacco enforcement and cessation programs, and other medical assistance programs. A former Fellow of the World Health Organization at the Royal Free Hospital, UK, Misra is a recipient of the Dr. B. C. Roy Award, the highest Indian award in the medical category. The Government of India awarded him the fourth highest civilian honour of the Padma Shri, in 2007, for his contributions to Indian medicine.
Barbara Ross-Lee, D.O. is an American physician, academic, and the first African-American woman to serve as dean of a U.S. medical school. She majored in biology and chemistry at Wayne State University, graduating in 1965. Then, in 1969, she entered Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine. Ross-Lee then went on to open her own private family practice, teach as a professor, and hold other positions within the medical community, until 1993 when she was elected as the first woman dean of a medical school, at Ohio University's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has earned several awards and honors for her work and accomplishments.

Noor Hisham bin Abdullah is a Malaysian civil servant and endocrine surgeon who has served as the Director-General of Health since March 2013. He served as the Deputy Director-General of Health (Medical) from February 2008 to his promotion to the Director-General in March 2013. He rose to prominence when he led Malaysia to battle in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Adham bin Baba is a Malaysian politician who has served as the Minister of Health in the Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration under Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin since March 2020 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Tenggara since May 2018 and from March 2004 to March 2008.
