Western India is a loosely defined region of India consisting of western states of Republic of India. The Ministry of Home Affairs in its Western Zonal Council Administrative division includes the states of Goa, Gujarat, and Maharashtra along with the Union territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, while the Ministry of Culture and some historians also include the state of Rajasthan. The Geological Survey of India includes Maharashtra but excludes Rajasthan whereas Ministry of Minority Affairs includes Karnataka but excludes Rajasthan.

Raosaheb Dadarao Danve Patil is an Indian politician and current Minister of State in the Ministry of Railways, Ministry of Coal and Ministry of Mines in Second Modi ministry. He is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party and got elected to Lok Sabha from Jalna for 5th straight time in 2019 general elections. He previously served as Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution from 30 May 2019 to July 7, 2021 and also as Maharashtra state President of BJP

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Prithviraj Chavan</span> 17th Chief Minister of Maharashtra

Prithviraj Chavan is an Indian politician who was the 17th Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Chavan is a graduate of the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and University of California, Berkeley in mechanical engineering. He spent time working in the field of aircraft instrumentation and designing audio recorders for anti-submarine warfare in the US before returning to India and becoming an entrepreneur in 1974. Referred to in the media as a technocrat with a clean, non-controversial image, a low-profile leader. Chavan served as the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions. Chavan was also General Secretary of the All-India Congress Committee (AICC), in-charge of many states, including Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Haryana, Gujarat, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh.

National Highway 61 is a National Highway in India connecting Bhiwandi in Maharashtra to Nirmal in Telangana. The route of this national highway was extended from Nirmal to Jagtial in the state of Telangana. NH-61 runs through states of Maharashtra and Telangana covering a distance of 758 km.

National Highway 161A, commonly as NH 161A, is a National Highway running through states of Karnataka and Maharashtra, with a total length 507 Kilometres that connects Akot, Maharashtra to Bidar, Karnataka. National Highway 161A joins the cities of Akot, Akola, Barshitakli, Mangrulpir, Manora, Digras, Arni, Mahur, Kinwat, Himayatnagar, Mudkhed, Waghala, Mukhed, Maharashtra–Karnataka border in central southern India with each other. It is an auxiliary route of National Highway 61.
