The Ministry of Justice of Palestine was established in 1994 after the partial lifting of the Israeli occupation in certain areas and the arrival of the Palestinian National Authority. The ministry aims to meet societal needs by establishing the rules of justice, equality and order. [1]

Palestine sent a delegation to compete at the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 7–18 September 2016. This was the fifth time they had taken part in a Paralympic Games after its debut sixteen years prior at the 2000 Summer Paralympics. Palestine sent one athlete to Rio de Janeiro shot put thrower Husam Azzam, who was the flag bearer for Palestine at the parade of nations during the opening ceremony. He did not win his third Paralympic medal because he ranked eighth out of ten athletes with a throw of 6.34 metres in the men's shot put F53 competition.

HibaKamal Abu Nada was a Palestinian poet, novelist, nutritionist, and Wikimedian. Her novel Oxygen is not for the dead won second place in the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in 2017. She was killed in her home in the Gaza Strip by an Israeli airstrike in the 2023 Israel–Hamas war.

The General Union of Cultural Centres in Gaza, Palestine, is a non-governmental organization with membership of 52 cultural organizations and centres. It was established in 1997, and its headquarters are in Gaza City.

Amir Imad Amin Abu Khadijeh was a Palestinian militant and former leader of the Tulkarm Brigade. He was from the city of Tulkarm. According to Israeli sources, Khadijeh, who was involved in multiple shooting incidents towards civilians in the area and security forces operating at the Tanim checkpoint, was located and targeted by Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), Border Police Anti-Terrorism units, following intelligence gathered by the Shin Bet. The operation took place in a village near Tulkarm. As the forces surrounded the house where Abu Khadijeh was hiding, he attempted to shoot at undercover Border Police officers from a window but was shot and wounded. The forces entered the apartment, and Abu Khadijeh, attempting to shoot again, was killed.

Ad-Deirat, is one of the villages of the city of Yatta in the Palestinian Hebron Governorate. It is part of the Khalet al-Maiyya village cluster, Located 11 km to the southeast of Hebron City in the southern part of the West Bank. It was occupied in 1967.
