The Ministry of Transparency, Supervision and Control (Portuguese: Ministério da Transparência, Fiscalização e Controle) is a cabinet-level federal ministry created on May 12, 2016. [1] The then acting president of Brazil, Michel Temer, created the ministry under Provisional Measure 726/2016. The responsibilities of the former Comptroller General of Brazil were transferred to the ministry. [2] Fabiano Silveira, its first minister, resigned on May 30, 2016. [3] [4] [2] From May 30 to June 1, Carlos Higino was the interim minister, and on June 1, Torquato Jardim was installed as the new Transparency Minister.

Gol Transportes Aéreos Flight 1907 was a Boeing 737-8EH on a scheduled domestic passenger flight from Manaus, Brazil, to Rio de Janeiro. On the afternoon of 29 September 2006, it collided in mid-air with an Embraer Legacy 600 business jet over the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso. The Boeing 737 broke up in mid-air and crashed into an area of dense jungle, killing all 154 passengers and crew on board. Despite sustaining serious damage to its left wing and tail, the Embraer Legacy jet landed safely with its seven occupants uninjured.

José Levi Mello do Amaral Júnior is a Brazilian jurist. He had been Acting Minister of Justice and Public Security between February and March 2017, after the nomination of former minister Alexandre de Moraes to the Supreme Federal Court. He was Prosecutor General of National Finances and licensed professor at the Law School of the University of São Paulo (USP).
