Kagera Region is one of Tanzania's 31 administrative regions. The region covers an area of 35,686 km2 (13,778 sq mi). The region is comparable in size to the land area of the Netherlands. Kagera Region is bordered to the east by Lake Victoria, Mwanza Region and Mara Region. The region is bordered to the south by Geita Region and Kigoma Region. Lastly, Kagera borders Rwanda to the west, Uganda to the north and Burundi to the south west. The regional capital city is Bukoba. According to the 2022 national census, the region had a population of 2,989,299, an increase from 2,458,023 recorded in 2012.

Kyaka is a town in Tanzania. It is an urban centre in Missenyi District, Kagera Region. The population of Kyaka was estimated at 6,000 people in 2015.

Small lakes such as the Ikimba, Burigi, Rushwa, and Rwakajunju provide fishing opportunities for residents of the Karagwe District. Bagamoyo District Council is one of eight administrative districts of Pwani Region in Tanzania. The District covers an area of 945 km2 (365 sq mi). The district is surrounded by the Chalinze District to the north and west, the Zanzibar Channel to the east, the Kibaha District to the south, and the Kinondoni District to the south-east in the Dar es Salaam Region. The district is comparable in size to the land area of Turks and Caicos Islands. The district capital is at Bagamoyo. 1n 2016 the Tanzania National Bureau of Statistics report there were 106,484 people in the district, from 311,740 in 2012, of which 97,660 where in current district wards. The decrease being from splitting of the district and creation of the Chalinze District in 2015.
Mpanda District is one of the five districts of the Katavi Region of Tanzania. Its administrative seat is the city of Mpanda. The district is bordered to the northwest by the Kigoma Region, to the northeast by the Tabora Region, to the east by the Mbeya Region, to the southeast by the Sumbawanga Urban District, to the southwest by the Nkasi District and to the west by Lake Tanganyika.
Nkasi District is one of the three districts of the Rukwa Region of Tanzania, with its headquarters in the village of Namanyere. It is bordered to the north by the Mpanda District of Katavi Region; to the east by the Sumbawanga District; to the south by the Sumbawanga Rural District and Zambia; and to the west by Lake Tanganyika across from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Formerly, the settlement on the border was known as Kyebisagazi, and Mutukula was a kilometre to the south on the east side of the Masaka-Bukoba Road (B8).

Chato District is one of the five districts in Geita Region of northwestern Tanzania. Its administrative centre is the town of Chato. The main ethnic group in the district are the Sukuma. The late John Magufuli, who used to be as President of Tanzania from 2015—2021, was born in Chato.

Kyerwa District is one of the eight districts of the Kagera Region of Tanzania. It is one of the 20 new districts that were formed in Tanzania since 2010; it was split off from Karagwe District. It is bordered to the north by Uganda, to the east by Missenyi District, to the south by Karagwe District and to the west by Rwanda, and has an area of 2,575 square kilometres (994 sq mi).
Kigoma District is one of the eight administrative districts of Kigoma Region in Tanzania. The district lies north of the city of Kigoma-Ujiji. Uvinza District, to the west and south of Ujiji, was split off from the Kigoma District in 1 July, 2013.
Busokelo is a new district in 2013 from Rungwe District within the Mbeya Region of Tanzania.
