Barry Walters, of Rolling Stone , wrote that "even when the band is rocking full throttle, [Monique] Powell sings as if she's belting out the latest Disney ballad." [3] Entertainment Weekly thought that Powell's "bluesy bluster turns the familiar almost feral." [7]

Save Ferris is an American ska punk band formed circa 1995 in Orange County, California, United States. Their name is a reference to the 1986 film Ferris Bueller's Day Off. In 1995, the band began to perform underground venues in Southern California. In 1996, the band won a Grammy showcase award for best unsigned band and a contract with Epic Records. Their album It Means Everything from 1997 was their first full-length album. By 1999, the band moved from ska-pop into pop-punk. After a hiatus, in 2017, Save Ferris released the Checkered Past EP.
Between the Buttons is the fifth British and seventh American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 20 January 1967 in the UK and on 11 February in the US. Reflecting the band's brief foray into psychedelia and baroque pop balladry during the era, the album is among their most eclectic works; multi-instrumentalist Brian Jones frequently abandoned his guitar during the sessions in favor of instruments such as organ, marimba, dulcimer, vibraphone, trumpet, and kazoo. Keyboard contributions came from two session players: former Rolling Stones member Ian Stewart and frequent contributor Jack Nitzsche. Between the Buttons would be the last album produced by Andrew Loog Oldham, who had to this point acted as the band's manager and produced all of their albums.
It Means Everything is the debut studio album by American rock band Save Ferris, released on September 9, 1997, through Epic and Starpool Records. After its members appeared in various other bands, Save Ferris formed in 1995. Vocalist Monique Powell became their manager because of her connections throughout the Orange County music scene. Following the release of their debut EP Introducing Save Ferris (1996), they received airplay from KROQ-FM, selling 12,000 copies. They performed as a band at the Grammy Awards, which eventually led to them signing to Epic Records. Their debut album was mostly recorded at NRG and The Hook studios, in Hollywood between April and June 1997. It Means Everything is a ska album that features influences from swing music, and has been compared to the works of American band No Doubt.

Captured during a prolific spurt of recording activity at Chess Studios in Chicago that June, Five by Five was released that August in the UK shortly after their debut album, The Rolling Stones, had appeared. The EP marks the band's first release in 18 years since 1999's Modified and their first since lead singer and founding member Monique Powell reformed the band with a brand new lineup after years of legal battles with the former members of the band. The EP was produced by Oingo Boingo bassist John Avila and features a guest appearance by Neville Staple of The Specials on the EP's first single, "New Sound".
