He was the founder of Central Hospital, Dhaka.
Maniruzzaman, also known as Mohāmmada Manirujjāmāna is a retired Professor of Linguistics at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. His publications include 18 authored books and eight edited books; his writings include poetry, song lyrics, literary criticism and studies of folklore, as well as linguistics. He was awarded the 2015 Bangla Academy Literary Award in the Research category and the 2023 Ekushey Padak in the language and literature category.
Husna Banu Khanam was a Bangladeshi educationist, writer and Nazrul singer. She was a pioneer of Bengali Muslim women journalism. In 1999, she received the Ekushey Padak Award for her contribution in music, and in 2004, she received the Begum Rokeya Medal for her contribution to the socio-economic development of women by the Government of Bangladesh.
Anupam Sen is a Bangladeshi author, sociologist, and social activist. He is currently serving as the vice-chancellor of Premier University, Chittagong. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2014 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Shamsuzzaman Khan was a Bangladeshi academician, folklorist, and writer who served as president of Bangla Academy since June 2020 until his death in April 2021. He also served as the director general of the academy during 2009–2018. He was notable for editing book series on folk culture of 64 different districts in 64 volumes and collections of folklore series in 114 volumes. He was awarded Bangla Academy Literary Award in 2001, Ekushey Padak in 2009 and Independence Day Award in 2017 by the Government of Bangladesh.
Najma Chowdhury was a Bangladeshi academic. She was a pioneer in establishing women studies in Bangladesh. She founded the Women and Gender Studies department of the University of Dhaka in 2000. She was an advisor to the first caretaker government in 1996. She was awarded the Ekushey Padak, Bangladesh's second highest civilian honour, for research in 2008.
Mohammad Asaduzzaman was a Bangladeshi educator. He was a professor in the Public Administration Department of Dhaka University and Chairman of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC). He was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 2006.
Kalidas Karmakar was a Bangladeshi artist. He specialized in viscosity printing. He was awarded Shilpakala Padak (2016) and the Ekushey Padak (2018) by the Government of Bangladesh for his contribution to fine arts.
Jamal Uddin Ahmed is a Bangladeshi artist and professor. In recognition of his contribution to fine arts, the government of Bangladesh awarded him the country's second highest civilian award Ekushey Padak in 2019.
Mahfuza Khanam is a Bangladeshi academic and social activist. She is the current president of Asiatic Society of Bangladesh since January 2018. She was awarded Begum Rokeya Padak (2012) and Anannya Top Ten Awards (2013).
