Reykjavík International Film Festival is an international film festival held annually in Reykjavík, Iceland. The festival lasts 11 days each year and emphasizes young talents. One way of doing so is having a competitive category exclusively limited to a director's first or second feature-length film. At each festival, a number of awards are given out. The main award is the Discovery of the Year award, also called Golden Puffin, given by an international jury. The international federation of film critics FIPRESCI send a jury to RIFF from 2006. Also, the audience can vote for their favorite film from the whole programme. Lifetime achievement awards and creative excellence awards are given to well-known film directors who have achieved excellence in their work.
Tyulpan is a 2008 Kazakh drama film. It was directed by Sergey Dvortsevoy and distributed by Zeitgeist Films. Tulpan was Kazakhstan's 2009 Academy Awards official submission to Foreign Language Film category, but it didn't make the final shortlist. It won the award for Best Film at the 2nd Asia Pacific Screen Awards.

Little England is a 2013 Greek period romantic drama film directed by Pantelis Voulgaris. Based on the novel of the same name by Ioanna Karystiani who also wrote the screenplay, it features an ensemble cast starring Pinelopi Tsilika, Sofia Kokkali, Aneza Papadopoulou and Andreas Konstantinou. The plot revolves around two sisters, Orsa and Moscha from the island of Andros, dubbed Little England because of its affluence, who are both in love with Spyros; it starts in the interwar period and ends in the 1950s.
Godless is a 2016 Bulgarian drama film directed by Ralitza Petrova. It was screened in the Discovery section at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.
Vahid Jalilvand is an Iranian film director, screenwriter, actor and editor. He has won the Crystal Simorgh for Best First Director and Best First Film at the 33rd Fajr Film Festival and the FIPRESCI Award at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival for his feature directorial debut in drama film Wednesday, May 9 (2015). In 2017, he won The Orizzonti Award for Best Director at the 74th Venice International Film Festival for his second film, No Date, No Signature. His third film, Beyond the Wall (2022) competed for the Golden Lion at the 79th Venice International Film Festival.

Ghost of the Golden Groves is a critically acclaimed 2019 Indian Bengali-language Experimental horror fantasy film directed by Aniket Dutta and Roshni Sen. The film consists of two stories, the second of which is loosely based on a short story by Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay. The film stars Joyraj Bhattacharjee and Bibhuti Soumyajit Majumdar.
The 11th Beijing International Film Festival was held in Beijing, China. Hosted by the Beijing Municipal Government and the China Media Group, the festival opened on September 21 with the Chinese 2021 film The Battle at Lake Changjin by Chen Kaige, Tsui Hark and Dante Lam. The festival was originally scheduled to be held from August 14 to 21, but was postponed due to the spread of Corona 19 delta mutation in China.

Rodeo is a 2022 French drama film written and directed by Lola Quivoron. The film stars Julie Ledru as Julia, a young woman living in social housing who has a poor relationship with her mother; passionate about the sport of motocross, she tries to gain the opportunity to participate in the sport by posing as a buyer on shopping websites so that she can take bikes out for test rides. As she becomes drawn deeper into the urban motocross scene, however, she begins to participate in a motorcycle theft ring.
