Morris Daniel "Mo" McHone (born June 17, 1943) [1] is a former coach for the Sioux Falls Skyforce, a professional team in the NBA Development League. He is also a former NBA basketball coach and assistant coach.

Career

McHone served as an assistant coach for the San Antonio Spurs for several seasons under coach Stan Albeck, replacing him in 1983 when Albeck took a job with the New Jersey Nets. However, McHone only lasted 31 games, and was fired midway through the season after posting an 11-20 record. [2] He was replaced by then-GM Bob Bass.

McHone served as an assistant coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers during the 1979–80 season, and under head coach George Karl during the 1985–86 season. He also served as an assistant coach for the Detroit Pistons (1999–2001) and the Los Angeles Clippers (2001–2003).

McHone has coached for several teams in the Continental Basketball Association and NBA D-League, and has also served as head coach of the United States Men's National Basketball Team for several stints.

Sioux Falls Skyforce

McHone is best known for his multiple stints as coach of the Sioux Falls Skyforce, both in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) and the NBA D-League. He coached the team from 1995-1999 in the CBA, and twice (06-07 and 10-12 [3] ) in the D-League, winning the CBA Championship in 1996. He has a combined 180-124 (.592) record with the Skyforce. [4] However, in August 2012 the Skyforce appointed Joel Abelson as the 15th Head coach of the franchise. [5]

In between his time with the Skyforce, he was named Director of Basketball Development for the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League. [6] [7]

He also enjoyed a brief career in the NBA with the Miami Heat.

The 2010–11 NBA Development League season is the tenth season of the NBA Development League. The NBA D-League is the official minor league basketball organization owned and run by the National Basketball Association (NBA). The league was formed in 2001 as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL). The league adopted its current name in 2005 to reflect its close affiliation with the NBA. One expansion franchise, the Texas Legends, joined the 15 returning teams from the previous season.

David Joerger ( [YAY-ger]) is an American professional basketball coach who serves as an assistant coach for the Philadelphia 76ers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was the head coach of the Dakota Wizards from 2000 to 2004 and in 2006–2007 in the International Basketball Association, Continental Basketball Association, and the NBA Development League, winning championships in 2001, 2002, 2004, and 2007. He also coached the Sioux Falls Skyforce from 2004 to 2006, winning a championship in 2005. In the NBA, Joerger served as head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies from 2013 to 2016, and Sacramento Kings from 2016 to 2019.

Paul Woolpert American basketball coach and scout

Paul Woolpert is an American basketball coach and scout. He was the head coach of the Yakima Sun Kings in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) for seven non-consecutive years. He was named CBA Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2008. He led the Sun Kings to four CBA Championships. A new Yakima Sun Kings team was founded in 2017 and Woolpert was hired as head coach. The team won the North American Premier Basketball (NAPB) Championship in 2018. He was fired during the 2019 NAPB Championship Series.
