"MUKANJYO" is a song by Japanese alternative metal band Survive Said the Prophet, serving as the first opening theme for Vinland Saga . It was released on August 21, 2019.

Overview

The song is the opening theme for the TV anime Vinland Saga as first revealed by manga author Makoto Yukimura in May 2019. [1] Yosh from Survive Said the Prophet said he the band found the theme comfortable to play thanks to their relationship with Director Shūhei Yabuta. [2] Survive Said The Prophet started pre-downloading and streaming distribution of the title song of the single "MUKANJYO" to be released on August 21. At the same time, the music video of "MUKANJYO" was released on the YouTube channel. The music video expresses the theme of the song, "revenge." The limited edition of the DVD includes a non-creditted version of the video. [3]

Also announced guest acts for the "Made In Asia Tour". Waterweed in Takamatsu on the first day, Lynch. It will be a two-band live with 10 groups such as Newspeak that turned around. The official second advance of the tour ticket started from 18:00 on August 2nd. [3] Both normal and limited versions of the CD appeared in the Oricon charts upon their release taking 45th place. Reception

Anime News Network listed the song as one of the best themes from Summer 2019 especially due to its music video; It explores the early life of Thorfinn involves his desire to seek adventures around the world, but he becomes corrupted when Askeladd's forces kill his father, Thors. The young Thorfinn becomes corrupted with rage, relinquishing his humanity to become a warrior, something the first opening theme of the anime series highlights in the final parts from video where Thorfinn stares at the sky angered. [6] In the 4th Crunchyroll Anime Awards, "Mukanjyo" was nominated for "best opening sequence" [7] IGN regarded it as one of the best musical pieces in the first season due to the large amount of instruments employed. Thorfinn, also called Thorfinn Karlsefni (ソルフィン・カルルセヴニ) and Thorfinn Thordarson (ソルフィン・ソルザルソン), is a fictional character and the protagonist of the manga Vinland Saga by Makoto Yukimura. Thorfinn is introduced as a teenage warrior of Askeladd's Viking company. He hates his commander for slaying his father Thors and has sworn to kill Askeladd in a duel. To earn the right to fight such a duel, Thorfinn must complete difficult tasks for Askeladd, such as sabotage or the killing of enemy generals. After over a decade of being a Viking, the adult Thorfinn starts questioning his actions and reflects on his earlier dream of a land without violence.

Thorkell, also known as "Thorkell the Tall" and "Thorkell the Invincible", is a fictional character from Makoto Yukimura's manga Vinland Saga. Thorkell is introduced as a commander from the Jomsviking, Viking mercenaries or conquerors allied with the King. He switches sides to fight for the English before choosing to ally himself with Prince Canute. He opposes the Vikings with whom the lead character, Thorfinn, works, but instead becomes interested in the protagonist for being the son of the warrior Thors, his brother. He is once again prominent in the series' third story arc, where he joins forces with the older Thorfinn as there are plans to make a revolution within the Jomsviking.

Twin Engine announced in March 2018 that the manga would receive an anime series adaptation, with the first season being produced by Wit Studio.
