N. T. Rama Rao Indian actor and Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh

Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, popularly known as NTR, was an Indian actor, producer, director, film editor and politician who served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for seven years over three terms. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema and one of the two legends of Telugu cinema, along with Akkineni Nageswara Rao. NTR received three National Film Awards for co-producing Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Seetharama Kalyanam (1960) under National Art Theater, Madras, and for directing Varakatnam (1970). NTR has received the erstwhile Rashtrapati Awards for his performance(s) in the Raju Peda (1954) and the Lava Kusa (1963). The National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu is one of the National Film Awards presented annually by the Directorate of Film Festivals, the organisation set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India. It is one of several awards presented for feature films and awarded with Rajat Kamal.

<i>Satyam</i> (2003 film)

Satyam is a 2003 Telugu romantic drama directed by debutant Surya Kiran. The film stars Sumanth and Genelia D'Souza and was very successful at the box-office. Released in December 2003, it is one of the biggest hits in Sumanth's career. It was also Genelia's debut Telugu film. It was produced by the noted film star and Sumanth's uncle Akkineni Nagarjuna under the Annapurna Studios banner. Chakri won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer – Telugu. It was remade in Bengali as Shakti.

<i>Satyam</i> (2008 film)

Satyam is a 2008 Indian action film written and directed by debutante A. Rajasekhar in his directorial debut. The film stars Vishal in the role of a cop for the first time. Nayantara plays the female lead role, while Kannada actor Upendra plays the support male lead role. The film was simultaneously shot in Tamil as Satyam and in Telugu as Salute. The film's score and soundtrack are composed by Harris Jayaraj. The film released on 14 August 2008. The film was produced by Vikram Krishna, Vishal's brother.

Dasari Narayana Rao

Dasari Narayana Rao was an Indian film director, producer, screenwriter, dialogue writer, actor, lyricist, and politician known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, Television, and Bollywood. He has directed more than one hundred and fifty feature films in a variety of genres. He is known by the moniker Darsaka Ratna. His works emphasize social injustice, corruption and gender discrimination. Rao has received three National Film Awards, nine state Nandi Awards including the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, and four Filmfare Awards South including the lifetime Achievement. During his career he has also acted in Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada languages.

Sobhan Babu Indian actor (1937-2008)

Sobhan Babu was an Indian actor known for his works in Telugu cinema. He made his film debut in Bhakta Shabari (1959), but Daivabalam (1959), was released earlier at the box office. Sobhan babu has garnered five state Nandi Awards for Best Actor, and four Filmfare Awards for Best Telugu Actor.

Pasupuleti Ramesh Naidu (1933–1987) was an Indian film music composer, multi instrumentalist, and singer, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He garnered the National Film Award for Best Music Direction for the film Megha Sandesam in 1983.

V. Madhusudhan Rao

Veeramachineni Madhusudhan Rao was an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter, known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, Rao directed over 45 films, including musical hits such as Annapurna, Zamindar, Antastulu, Aradhana, Aathma Balam, Aatmiyulu, Krishnaveni and produced Swati Kiranam. In 1965 he received the National Film Award for directing Antastulu. Rao died on 11 January 2012 at the age of 95.

Swapna is a 1981 Telugu/Kannada film directed by Dasari Narayana Rao and produced by Jagadish Prasad. It marked the film debut of Swapna. The film's music was provided by Chellapilla Satyam. The film is a remake of the 1964 Bollywood film Sangam. Some of the songs were very well received, particularly Ide Naa Modati Premalekha and Ankitam Neeke Ankitam(Arpane Ninage Arpane in Kannada).

<i>Jayabheri</i>

Jayabheri is 1959 Indian Telugu-language biographical film, based on the life of Karnataka poet Kaasinath, produced by Vasireddy Narayana Rao under the Sarada Productions banner and directed by P. Pullaiah. It stars Akkineni Nageswara Rao, Anjali Devi and music composed by Pendyala Nageswara Rao. The film is a remake of the Marathi film Lokshahir Ram Joshi (1947), in Hindi as Matwala Shayar Ram Joshi and simultaneously released in Tamil as Kalaivaanan.

Chellapilla Satyam

Chellapilla Satyanarayana Sastry, better known as Chellapilla Satyam was an Indian music director. He was popular in the Telugu and Kannada cinema fields in 1960s and 1980s. He was introduced in films by director M.Nageshwara Rao through the popular silver jubilee Kannada hit Sri Ramanjaneya Yuddha. Sathyam is best remembered as "Andhra RD Burman". He also composed to handful of Bengali, Bhojpuri and Hindi movies.

Kamalakara Kameswara Rao was an Indian film director known for his works predominantly in Telugu cinema, and few Tamil and Hindi films. Widely known as Pouraanika Chitra Brahma, Rao has directed fifty feature films in a variety of genres. In 1960 he directed the biographical film, Mahakavi Kalidasu which won the President's Silver Medal for Best Feature Film in Telugu. In 1962 he directed Gundamma Katha based on the Shakespearean comedy, The Taming of the Shrew which received mixed reviews from critics but was commercially successful, completing a 100-day run in 17 centers and a silver-jubilee run at the Durga Kalamandir, Vijayawada. Gundamma Katha received the Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu.

Datla Venkata Suryanarayana Raju, better known as D. V. S. Raju was an Indian film producer known for his works in Telugu Cinema and Bollywood. He was instrumental in shifting the Telugu film industry from Chennai to Hyderabad. He was the recipient of the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award, the Bhishma Award and the Padma Shri for his contributions to Indian cinema.

Sathyam Shivam Sundaram is a 1987 Indian Kannada-language film directed by K. S. R. Das and produced by G. R. K. Raju. The film stars Vishnuvardhan, Radhika, Sumithra and Vajramuni in the lead roles. The film has musical score by K. Chakravarthy. The movie is a remake of 1985 Telugu movie Jwala. However, while the hero played dual role in the original, Vishnuvardhan played a triple role including the father's role.

<i>Janatha Garage</i> 2016 film by Koratala Siva

Janatha Garage is a 2016 Indian Telugu-language action drama film written and directed by Koratala Siva, produced by Naveen Yerneni, Y. Ravi Shankar, and C. V. Mohan under their production house Mythri Movie Makers, and distributed by Eros International. The film stars Mohanlal, N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Samantha and Nithya Menen in leading roles, while Sachin Khedekar, Unni Mukundan, Devayani, Sai Kumar, Suresh and Ashish Vidyarthi play supporting roles. The plot revoles around Sathyam (Mohanlal) and Anand an environmental activist. Anand is recruited by Sathyam, who operates a large automobile service center named "Janatha Garage" and undertakes law enforcement through his group of automobile mechanics, because the legal agencies are thought to be inadequate.

<i>Kotigobba 2</i> 2016 film directed by K. S. Ravikumar

Kotigobba 2 is a 2016 Indian Kannada-language action comedy film directed by K. S. Ravikumar. The film was produced by Rockline Venkatesh and M. Babu in Kannada and Tamil languages simultaneously, the latter as Mudinja Ivana Pudi. The film features Sudeep and Nithya Menen in the lead roles. Both versions of the film released on 12 August 2016 coinciding with the 2016 Varalakshmi Vrata.Despite the title, the film is not a sequel to the 2001 film, Kotigobba.
