Nandkishore Shamrao Laud is an Indian orthopaedic surgeon who was awarded with the honour of Padma Bhusan, the third highest civilian award of India in 2013. [1]
Laud holds Master of Surgery (orthopaedics) from University of Bombay. He is the former professor and head, department of orthopaedic surgery and traumatology and chief of trauma service at Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and General Hospital, Sion, Mumbai. He is currently associated with Laud Clinic, Shushrusha Citizens' Co-operative Hospital and Breach Candy Hospital, Mumbai.[ citation needed ]

He was a recipient of the Golden Award of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery, the first Indian and the fifth overall to receive the honour. The Government of India awarded him the third highest civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan, in 1972, for his contributions to medicine and society.

Roy Award by Medical Council of India, The Government of India, in recognition of his contributions to the field of medicine and public health honored him with the Padma Shri (1985) one of India's highest civilian awards in India.
