Dou E Yuan, commonly translated as The Injustice to Dou E, and also known as Snow in Midsummer, is a Chinese play written by Guan Hanqing during the Yuan dynasty. The full Chinese title of the play is Gan Tian Dong Di Dou E Yuan, which roughly translates to The Injustice to Dou E that Touched Heaven and Earth. The story follows a child bride turned widow, Dou E, who is wrongly convicted of crimes by a corrupt court official for actions perpetrated by a rejected suitor, Zhang the mule. After her execution, three prophesied phenomena occur to prove her innocence, including blood raining from the sky, snow in June and a three-year drought. After a visit from the ghost of Dou E, her father eventually brings the corrupt court official, a doctor and Mule Zhang to justice, thereby vindicating his daughter. Today, the phrase "snowing in June" is still widely used among Chinese speakers as a metaphor for a miscarriage of justice. The story was repeatedly used and modified by later dramatists and remains one of Guan's most popular works.

Christian Dornier is a French mass murderer who murdered his sister and mother and wounded his father with a 12-gauge double-barrelled shotgun at their farm on July 12, 1989. He then drove through the village of Luxiol and the adjacent area, shooting people at random. A total of fourteen people were killed and eight others injured in Dornier's half-hour rampage, before police managed to subdue him.

Weng Chi-nan was murdered on 28 May 2010 in Taichung City, Taiwan. Weng, described as a gangster, was shot seven times after he walked into his office. One of Weng's associates, Lai Jung-chen was injured during the shooting and died four days later. Since four police officers were present at Weng's office during the murder, but took no action, they were suspected of having gang ties.

Records of Kangxi's Travel Incognito is a Chinese television series revolves around the Manchu-ruling Qing Empire monarch Kangxi Emperor and the corruption he faces as he tries to make the government run efficiently. The series was directed by Zhang Guoli and produced by Deng Jie. The series consists of a total of 144 episodes shot in high definition, each 45 minutes long. The series is based on the events in the Kangxi era of the reign of Kangxi Emperor during the Qing Dynasty. The series also features Kangxi Emperor's family member and entourage in prominent roles and storylines, most notably his Concubine Yi and eunuch Sandezi and Buddhist monk Fayin, and Concubine Yi's servant girl Xiao Taohong. The program originally aired from 1998 to 2007, spanning five seasons and 144 episodes. For the first four seasons, the show starred Zhang Guoli and Deng Jie as Kangxi Emperor and Concubine Yi respectively. In the last season, John Lone and Irene Wan became the stars.
The Journey of Flower is a 2015 Chinese television series starring Wallace Huo and Zhao Liying. It is based on the fictional novel of the same name written by Fresh Guoguo, which is inspired from Daoist legends regarding the path to immortality.
