Neopolynoe is a genus of marine polychaete worms belonging to the family Polynoidae, the scaleworms. Neopolynoe contains 4 species, all known from the Atlantic Ocean from shallow water to depths of about 2500 m. [2] [3]

Description

Species of Neopolynoe are long-bodied scale worms with about 60–105 segments and 15 pairs of elytra. The bilobed prostomium has a pair of cephalic peaks present and the lateral antennae are inserted ventrally beneath the median antenna. The neuropodial lobe is elongate and tapering. The ornamented notochaetae are thicker than or about as thick as the neurochaetae. Two kinds of neurochaetae may be present: with simple blunt tips or with bidentate tips. [3]

Yodanoe is a genus of marine polychaete worms belonging to the family Polynoidae, the scaleworms. Yodanoe contains a single species, Yodanoe desbruyeresi which is known from the Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone in the equatorial East Pacific Ocean at a depth of almost 5000 m.

Gattyana is a genus of marine annelids in the family Polynoidae. The genus includes 11 species, 9 of which occur in the northern hemisphere, the remaining two are from the Indian Ocean off Mozambique and the Southern Ocean off New Zealand. Species of Gattyana are known from shallow water down to depths of about 1200 m.

Gattyana treadwelli is a scale worm known from the north-west Pacific and Arctic Oceans from depths down to about 30 m.

Hermadionella truncata is a scale worm known from the north-west Pacific and Arctic Oceans at depths down to about 200 m.

Neopolynoe acanellae is a scale worm known from the North Atlantic Ocean at depths about 400 to 2000 m.

Neopolynoe antarctica is a scale worm known from the Magallanes Region of the South Atlantic Ocean and from the Southern Ocean south of New Zealand at depths to about 200 m.

Neopolynoe chondrocladiae is a scale worm known from the north-east Atlantic Ocean at depths of about 700 to 2500 m.

Neopolynoe paradoxa is a scale worm known from the North Atlantic Ocean around Norway at depths of about 70 to 1000 m.
