The New England College of Optometry is a private optometry college in Boston, Massachusetts. It enrolls over 500 students and is one of the oldest continually operating college of optometry in the United States.
It was originally established as the Klein School of Optics in 1894 by ophthalmologist August Andreas Klein. [1] The college moved to several locations around Boston, and was known as the Massachusetts School of Optometry and the Massachusetts College of Optometry until it came to reside in its current location in the Back Bay section of Boston.
The college offers both Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) and Master of Science in Vision Science degrees. Special emphasis is placed on direct contact with patients, and to this end students make use of the College's owned and operated clinics, NECO Center for Eye Care Commonwealth and Roslindale, as well as the NECO Clinical Network of eye care centers.

It is part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system and was established in 1971 as result of a legislative mandate of New York. It is located in midtown Manhattan in what was originally the Aeolian Building, which was built in 1912 for the Aeolian Company, a piano manufacturer. It is a center for research on vision and the only school of optometry in New York.

The Affiliated Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University is a Chinese institution for study and treatment in the fields of Ophthalmology and Optometry. The hospital was founded in 1998 in Zhejiang Province of the People's Republic of China. The institute collaborates with the New England College of Optometry to offer a Joint MS/OD Degree of optometry and ophthalmology, in which participating students undertake clinical practice both in Wenzhou and Boston. The hospital is associated with national government programs including the Optometry Research Center, the key laboratory for visual science and the National key lab, Optometry and Ophthalmology, and Vision Science.
