New River is an album by mandolinist David Grisman and jazz pianist Denny Zeitlin that was released in 2001. Half the songs were written by Grisman, half by Zeitlin, with one a collaboration. [1]
David Jay Grisman is an American mandolinist. His music combines bluegrass, folk, and jazz in a genre he calls "Dawg music". He founded the record label Acoustic Disc, which issues his recordings and those of other acoustic musicians.

Denny Zeitlin is an American jazz pianist, composer, and clinical professor of psychiatry at University of California, San Francisco.
