Newsline was a Pakistani monthly English current affairs and political magazine owned by Hum Network. It was published from 1989 to 2019 in Karachi, Pakistan. [4] It was founded by Razia Bhatti.

History

Newsline was started in July 1989. [5] Razia Bhatti (1944 1996), a Pakistani journalist and former editor of the Herald, was the founder editor of the magazine. [5] [6] In 2014, the Hum Network acquired the magazine. [7] In December 2019, it published its last issue and stopped publication citing "financial constraints" by the Hum Network. [1]

The Herald was a monthly magazine of politics and current affairs published by the Dawn Media Group from 1970 to 2019 in Karachi, Pakistan. The Herald has been responsible for producing many large and breaking stories since it started.

Munir Ahmed Niazi, was an Urdu and Punjabi language poet from Pakistan. He also wrote for newspapers, magazines and radio. In 1960, he established a publication institute, Al-Misal. He was later associated with Pakistan Television, Lahore and lived in Lahore till his death.

Geo News is a Pakistani pay television news channel owned by the Jang Media Group.

Hum Network Pakistani television network

Hum Network Limited or Hum TV Network Limited is a Pakistani media company based in Karachi, Pakistan. It was established in February 2004 by Sultana Siddiqui.

Ibrahim Nafees born Ibrahim Hussain on was a Pakistani journalist, writer, and humorist. He has authored several books of the short stories such as Chalees Karor Bhikari and Tikona Des and the novel Chor Bazar. He joined the Daily Jang newspaper and wrote his columns titled Waghaira Waghaira which made him famous. He also worked as an editor of Musawat, Karachi, the daily newspaper of the Pakistan People's Party. Later he launched his own weekly magazine, Awami Adalat.

Omer Shahzad is a Pakistani model, actor and singer who started his career in 2011, and has since established himself as one of the country's top models and actors. He has been nominated for several awards with three consecutive Best Model Male nominations at Hum Awards. and four consecutive nomination in Lux Style awards. He marked his screen debut in 2013 with Geo TV's drama series Adhoori Aurat in a negative role and went to work in Choti Choti Khushiyan, Chor Darwazay and hit-drama series Noor Jahan. He also marked his film debut in 2016 film Teri Meri Love Story.

Razia Bhatti was a Pakistani journalist who served as editor of the Herald and Newsline magazines. When she died at the age of 52, the Pakistan Press Foundation called it "end of a golden chapter of journalism in Pakistan." Bhatti founded staff-owned Newsline magazine with the help of other female journalists after leaving Herald magazine.

Momina Duraid is a Pakistani director and producer. She is a senior producer and creative head of television network Hum TV and CEO of her own production company MD Productions. She has produced and created several series including Dastaan (2010), Qaid-e-Tanhai (2010–11), Humsafar (2011–12), Shehr-e-Zaat (2012), Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2012–13), Diyar-e-Dil (2015), Sadqay Tumhare (2015), Mann Mayal (2016), Udaari (2016), Bin Roye (2016), Yaqeen Ka Safar (2017), Suno Chanda (2018) and Ehd-e-Wafa (2019).
