Nick Albertson (born 1983, Boston, MA) is a Chicago-based artist.
Primarily utilizing a Toyo-Field 45CF 4-by-5 camera, Nick Albertson's work combines photography, video, and sculptural forms. [1] [2] Albertson's recent body of work utilizes the repetitive patterning of everyday household items such as rubber bands, cups, straws, paper napkins, and plastic bags. When framed through Nick Albertson's photographic lens, these mundane objects undergo a transformation. Through patterning, light and shadow, sculptural formations, and post-production editing, Albertson's work blurs the lines between abstraction and representation, playing to the repetitive nature of the objects in question and the viewer's familiarity with common household products. [3] "In my work, I strip utilitarian objects of their functions, repurposing them to create visceral experiences." [4] One reviewer noted that in some of Albertson's works, it is obvious to tell which household or office item he is utilizing in his works. Others, not so much. The repeated motif leads towards abstraction in a way that is both mesmerizing and deceptive. [5]
In 2006, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Photography from Bard College (Annandale-On-Hudson, NY) and his Masters of Fine Arts from Columbia College (Chicago, IL) in 2013. [6]

He was the recipient of the Bard College Photography Advisory Board Scholarship (2005), the Follett Fellowship Scholarship (2006), the Albert P. Weisman Award (2011, 2012), the AGROUND: 16th Annual Photo Competition Exhibition, Photo Center NW, Seattle, WA (2011, Honorable Mention), the Union League Civic & Arts Foundation Visual Arts Competition, the Stuart and Iris Baum Project Completion Grant (finalist), the Capsim Student Award, and the Bridgeport Art Center Exhibition Award (2013). Vik Muniz is a Brazilian artist and photographer. Initially a sculptor, Muniz grew interested with the photographic representations of his work, eventually focusing completely on photography. Primarily working with unconventional materials such as tomato sauce, diamonds, magazine clippings, chocolate syrup, dust, dirt, etc., Muniz creates works of art, referencing old master's paintings and celebrity portraits, among other things, and then photographs them. His work has been met with both commercial success and critical acclaim, and has been exhibited worldwide. He is currently represented by Galeria Elba Benítez in Madrid, Rena Branstein Gallery in San Francisco, Ben Brown Fine Arts in London, Sikkema Jenkins & Co in New York, Galeria Nara Roesler in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Galerie Xippas in Paris.
Anne Hardy is a British artist. Her art practice spans photography, sculptural installation and audio. She completed an MA in photography at the Royal College of Art in 2000, having graduated from Cheltenham School of Art in 1993 with a degree in painting. Hardy lives and works in London.
The Museum of Contemporary Photography (MoCP) was founded in 1976 by Columbia College Chicago as the successor to the Chicago Center for Contemporary Photography. The museum houses a permanent collection as well as the Midwest Photographers Project (MPP), which contains portfolios of photographers and artists' work who reside in the Midwestern United States. The Museum of Contemporary Photography began collecting in the early 1980s and has since grown its collection to include more than 15,000 objects by over 1,500 artists. The MoCP is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums.
Nick Cave is an American sculptor, dancer, performance artist, and professor. He is best known for his Soundsuit series: wearable assemblage fabric sculptures that are bright, whimsical, and other-worldly, often made with found objects. He also trained as a dancer with Alvin Ailey and often incorporates dance and performance into his works. His later sculptures have focused on color theory and included mixed media and large-scale installations. He lives in Chicago, Illinois, and directs the graduate fashion program at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He continues to work on Soundsuits as well as works completed as a sculptor, dancer, and performance artist.

David Christopher Newton was an American sculptor, painter, printmaker, draftsman, and college art teacher. Newton was born in 1953 in Oakland, California. He lived and worked in California, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and North Carolina with his wife Suzanne McBride Newton. He died in 2011 from colon and liver cancer.
Barbara Crane was an American artist photographer born in Chicago, Illinois. Crane worked with a variety of materials including Polaroid, gelatin silver, and platinum prints among others. She was known for her experimental and innovative work that challenges the straight photograph by incorporating sequencing, layered negatives, and repeated frames. Naomi Rosenblum notes that Crane "pioneered the use of repetition to convey the mechanical character of much of contemporary life, even in its recreational aspects."
